Re: Colts/Steelers Thoughts
The call to Bettis wasn't a bad call. Indy had all of its timeouts left so they couldn't kneel it. Also, what are the odds of Bettis fumbling, anyway?

Re: Colts/Steelers Thoughts
I am glad the Steelers won, they deserved it the entire game.

Re: Colts/Steelers Thoughts
I am glad to see the Colts go down-- now I think a few people will get off their bandwagon. Good to see the underdogs advance-- Go Steelers and Panthers.
It would be fun to see the Panthers/Steelers in the Super Bowl. I think both teams have a good shot. Plummer will choke and the Seahawks are overrated.

Re: Colts/Steelers Thoughts
What about all the so called "experts" who picked Indy to go all the way. They were talking like it was a foregone conclusion that the Colts would be there. Dickheads like Tom Jackson, Salisbury, Stinky, Clayton, P. King etc. What a bunch of LOSERS. Chris Carter is a bet whelcher as is Salisbury. I hate those idiots who make these grand statements and then when it doesn't go the way they call it, they act as though they were thinking the other way all along. Like we, the audience are that friggin' stupid. One final note: Dierdorf makes me want to :vomit: He SUCKS as a commentator.

Re: Colts/Steelers Thoughts
I believe the Steelers made the right call when they were on the Colts 2 yard line. Jerome Bettis is normally one of the most reliable runners in football when it comes to not fumbling. If he had scored a touchdown it would've put the game out of reach, instead of kneeling 3 times, kicking a field goal, and giving the best offense in football a minute and 3 timeouts to go down the field and score a touchdown that would've put them ahead by one. I'm not saying that would happen, but what were the chances of Bettis fumbling before he got across the goal line?

Re: Colts/Steelers Thoughts
i believe that was bettis's first fumble of the season... either way the steelers played better all game... indy needs a better oline for mad blitzing 3-4s, they went 1-2 this year against them.

Glad I'm not a Colts fan, although I do feel bad for Tony Dungy. I bet the pissing and moaning on the Colts discussion board dwarfs anything you'll read in DC.

Re: Colts/Steelers Thoughts
Steelers had the better game plan and they came to play. Colts were flat from the opening kickoff and were out of sync most of the day. Even the refs couldn't help them enough.

Re: Colts/Steelers Thoughts
I think Peyton Mannig is pretty much the most incredible QB the NFL has ever seen, and a real class act to boot.
After yesterday's game I felt really bad for him, as it seems he's on his way to becoming nothing but a joke in NFL history. "The greatest player to never get to a Super Bowl." For a football player that's about the worst thing imagineable. Every stat, every record, a command of the game second to none, and he just can't get there. You could see it on his face when Vanderjagt missed the field goal. A disappointed smile. That's about all you can do - it's at a point where the Colts are becoming a joke, the farce of the NFL every time playoff season rolls around. I just hate seeing guys like Dungy and Manning, Harrison and Wayne keep coming up short when it matters most. - guys who seem to really epitomize what football is all about, guys who are humble and professional and at the same time some of the best at what they do in the history of the NFL.

Re: Colts/Steelers Thoughts
The refs were just horrible in this game. That pick that was called incomplete was one of the worst calls of the year.

Re: Colts/Steelers Thoughts
I don't really have any investment in that game. however, I am glad Bettis does not have to be responsible for the loss (should it have happened) on his potential retirement!

2. The ground didn't cause a fumble. 3. He LOST the ball before making a football move. I thought the call was on the spot. In all honestly that wasn't a fumble and if it isn't a fumble it's an incomplete pass!
