It started to happen last offseason before Samuels got his new deal. That's pretty much where LaVar is right now. All of a sudden he sucks because he makes a lot of money and if he doesn't restructure than he's not a team player. That's pretty retarded.
steven davis wanted 10mill a year to stay, who'd agree to that? his agent was being stupid. since then he had 1 good year and now looks like he's done and likely to be dropped for good.

I didn't really like champ while he was here, but i didn't hate him for leaving, he got 15million more to go to the broncos. And i'd trade for portis any day, there's no regret on my part there. I didn't think rogers or marshall would be as good as pierce and smoot this year... turns out they both were. Smoot again got more money, but pierce left cause he rather play in NY, so i was a bit miffed at that.

I don't think most people are saying that lavar sucks, his contract is just too big right now and someone's gotta go. That' the reality of the salary cap.

yes, though i guess you could launder money through sponsors that are cooperative, but it'd be easy to spot (due to the size of transactions) and blow up in your face almost every time.

LA has been a good (not great) LB but has not lived up to expectations. Like everyone, I thought he was going to be the LT of his era, it did not happen this way. I have to vote no.

"Does LaVar Deserve Special Treament" Poll

Does LaVar deserve a fair shot once again at the greatness we know he posesses? Yes. Does he deserve special treatment? No.

In my opinion, LaVar still has a lot of good years left that are going to go to somebody. They should go to the 'Skins. If he can stay healthy in the knees, he can and will be a threat to anyone else's offense. LaVar is the kind of player that radiates Redskin Greatness. He is a franchise type guy who I believe is willing to try to make things work at his expense. What I fear is that if the free agency gets pushed to April, this will effect how his contract could legally be restructured in order to handle his bonuses on a pro-rated schedule. If this happens, the Redskins may have no choice but to move LaVar out... As with most unfortunate things in life, it comes down to the bank account of the Team, and if there will be enough dollars to go around. I would think that with a high-profile player with the talents of LaVar, he would want to know where he is headed at this point in the off-season. I believe that neither LaVar nor the Redskins could keep any deal a secret for very long based on track history. At any rate, LaVar will always be considered a Redskin great in my book, and special treatments aside, he will help the Redskins if they can find a way to keep him in camp.
