Titans | Not actively working to rework McNair's contract
Tue, 21 Mar 2006 16:37:58 -0800 Teresa M. Walker, of the Associated Press, reports talks to rework Tennessee Titans QB Steve McNair's hefty salary cap number doesn't seem to be high on the team's priority list at the moment. Agent Bus Cook told The Associated Press Tuesday, March 21, that he's sure they'll be talking somewhere down the road and isn't sure if that will be after the NFL Draft April 29-30. McNair's cap number is $23.46 million. It doesn't take up as much of the Titans' cap space as before, now that the NFL extended the labor agreement and pushed up the cap to $102.5 million. Cook said he thinks McNair, an 11-year veteran, has up to four good seasons left in his career and needs to be paid as such. 23.5$mill on mcnair, for one year. WOW. |

Colts | More about Vinatieri's contract
Tue, 21 Mar 2006 21:27:01 -0800 Tom Silverstein, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports according to a source familiar with the agreement, free agent PK Adam Vinatieri (Patriots) received a five-year deal from the Indianapolis Colts that was worth $7.5 million over the first three years, $9.6 million over the first four, and included a $3.5 million signing bonus. By most accounts it is the richest deal ever for a kicker. |

Dolphins| Team's interest in Arrington rising
Tue, 21 Mar 2006 22:33:01 -0800 Jeff Darlington, of the Palm Beach Post, reports the Miami Dolphins have raised their interest level in free agent LB LaVar Arrington (Redskins) after LB Julian Peterson signed with the Seattle Seahawks. With the Dolphins' interest in Arrington on the rise, they will have to compete with the New York Giants for his services, a source said. The high price tag on Peterson could dictate how much a team likely will have to pay for Arrington, since both clients have the same agent, Kevin Poston. |

Bengals | Police and courts: C. Henry
Wed, 22 Mar 2006 06:17:17 -0800 Paul A. Long, of the Cincinnati Post, reports Kenton County prosecutors are working out a deal with Cincinnati Bengals WR Chris Henry that will keep him out of jail in Kentucky. Henry, who was arrested on charges of speeding and possession of marijuana in Covington on Dec. 15, would have to undergo treatment or therapy under any plea bargain. Henry is due in court Wednesday, March 22, but the case is expected to be continued. Under NFL rules, the arrest put Henry into a treatment plan of up to 90 days. NFL | Anaheim sets a deadline for the NFL Wed, 22 Mar 2006 06:20:48 -0800 The Orange County Register reports Anaheim, Ca. officials have delivered an ultimatum to the NFL: Choose our site for your Los Angeles-area team by May or we will pursue other options. "The city is taking a position because we've been getting the run-around," Councilman Harry Sidhu said. NFL officials had hoped to choose either Los Angeles or Anaheim next week at an NFL owners meeting, but owners are expected to wait at least until the May 23-25 meeting. Anaheim has zero leverage, so i don't really see the point of such weak posturing. |

Re: Official NFL Free Agent Signings Thread
I just read the interview Antonio Pierce gave. What a schmo! He's LOBBYING TO GET LAVAR! HAHAH. Is it just me, or is my hatred for this guy legitimate? I hope Clinton makes him his BITCH when he breaks his ankles RACING to the secondary against the Midgets this year. I'm gonna bust a nut watching Al Saunders and CP tearing up that linebacker core. Especially Antonio Pierce. Think that would shut him up? I hope they get Lavar also, so Mr. Saunders can show the rest of the NFL, and the world for that matter that Lavar Arrington is garbage. He can't play in a structured D. This season is going to be very emotional. **** you Pierce. Much terminal illness to you, and your family, along with Jeremy Shockey.
