Something does not seem right with this story. He said he had to be asked to stay with his mother? I believe you put a down payment on the tickets which is non refundable if you do not purchase and I don't think they even offer payments. Why would the Skins take the time and cost to sue a guy when they have about 60,000 people waiting for season tickets.

Family loss affects ticket purchase?

The team i have been a fan of since i can remember is getting ready to sue me i believe. I signed up for season tickets on friday and was suppose to make my frst payment on tuesday, on monday afternoon late in the day i recieved a call from my mother letting me know my father and brother were in a bad car accident in seattle a few hours earlier. I had to use the money that was slated to go to my tickets for plane fair and other expenses to get to seattle A.S.A.P to be with my family.

Unfortunetly by the time i had arrived my father and brother had passed away. this is very digfficult for myself and my family and tickets are the last thing on my mind. I called the individual who sold me my tickets and explained to him the situation i found myself in and thought i would be able to forfit the hold i had on the tickets due to the fact he told me the order would not be processed until they recieved the first payment and it states that the contract does not begin until really the first preseason game.

I was advised i signed a contract and there is nothing they can do and they still expect me to fulfill the obligation. I am not even sure im coming back to the area at this point as i have been asked to stay with my mother for awhile.

I cant believe they are doing this, a team that is suppose to be all about the fans is going to sue me over this. I can see if it was months after the fact but it was three days and i was lied to by the sales executive as well.

I have been envolved with alot of Redskins endevors as well such as Yards For Youth and currently associate with alot of the players. Im not so sure this is even my favorite team anymore.

Re: This makes me really upset

I have heard other stories about the salespeople at the Skins office not being that great, and it really upsets me. I think something needs to be done, and this man deserves an official apology of some sort for being treated in such a terrible way. Again I do not think its DS's fault, he probably doesnt even know what has happened yet, but since it is on ES I hope someone will pick up on it soon.

Re: This makes me really upset

Before anyone slams the franchise for this situation, we should see how it plays out. If this has all happened on Tuesday, it would be a rush to judgement to blast the Skins on Friday.

If your story is the truth than I hope that God finds a way to ease your pain. My brother was murdered in cold blood, and the last place I was visiting on the internet was ANYWHERE! I am suspicious of your story, at no irreverance to your family, simply at explanation of the facts. When my brother was murdered I don't think I even watched a Skins game for a couple years, let alone cared about any $ on it. Maybe we are different and what you say is true, well then GET TO GETTING TAKING CARE OF YOUR FAMILY and forget about $ - the Skins won't sue you - like you say. Oprah would have a field day with that. Because of the things you've said, I hope you have felt a deep loss, if you haven't you make a mockery of those who have and do live it.

The most evil that men can do is be indifferent.

Hail!

Re: This makes me really upset

this is disheartening regardless of the facts, but like others have said there's a need for better info before rushing to judgement. I work in local gov't so I'm quite used to hearing people complain about "the man" stifling them, but in my objective opinion 90% of the time the people haven't thoroughly researched the process & their responsibilities. But for that other 10% of the time, yes sometimes people get screwed due to incompetence, poor policy decisions, etc.
Plus, sometimes we just have to employ that tired old line, "business is business." And the skins is definitely big bidness!!
The real unfortunate aspect of this is that the story's sentiment is believable even if the facts aren't all there. The Danny has put together stadium seats & boxes and raised prices w/out much regard to the loyalty of old fans who've stuck w/them & bought tickets in the rough 90s. Not to mention the stories we've heard from players that leave town pissed. I just hope this guy is over reacting & that all aspects of the deal haven't been told.
PS. Is it really believable to think that the skins would sue a ticket holder at this juncture as he describes?
