Post 1000
Hey guys. I wanted to wait until after the game today to make my 1000th post. I have been a member here for a little over two years and believe that this is the best Skins fan site that there is. I have been a die hard fan since I was 14 years old. That year, I was stuck in my bed with the flu. I was lucky enough to have a 13" Color TV with rabbit ears that I used to tune in to watch a younger version of Joe Gibbs call a play in which a man named John Riggins ran into history.
The following years were full of joy for any avid Redskins fan. We seemed to always make the playoffs and were always contending for the NFL crown. When JG retired, I couldn't believe it. I thought he just needed a break and would find his way back. I suffered through coaching change after coaching change, always believing that the next guy must be the guy we need to get back to the glory days. Then it happened, the unthinkable, the unbelievable. The right coaching change finally happened. Gibbs decided to come back! I hope that other Skins fans stopped and thanked god for this like I did. I still do. And in just his second year back, he returned the skins to the playoffs. Guess what, it was no fluke. He did it the way he always did it. Win in December. Pound the rock! That my friends brings us to today. This season, losing those first two games taught this coaching staff that the Gibbs method may be just what this team needs to do to consistently achieve success. Today our RBs ran for over 200 yards. Our offense put up nearly 500 yards, and we won our first game. Even though the Texans are no Superbowl contender, we beat them the way a contender should...in a way where I did not have to bite my fingernails throughout the game. We may still have some problems to fix but, at least now, there is hope! Go Skins!

37 huh... wow you're old! j/k
Congrats.. nice post! I was a kid watching the games on wednesdays and thursdays, because my aunt and uncle had to tape them in VA and send them to my grandparents so we could watch them in TX. I was probably 10 before I realized the skins didn't play on thursdays and we weren't the only team where you could skip commercials just because we were the best!
