Re: Redskins Interested in Troy Vincent
i just dont see bringing a new guy who is a vet...which means more money... at this point in the season. he would have alot of catching up to do. not to mention his health...is he healthy?

Re: Redskins Interested in Troy Vincent
Troy Vincent is a potential Godsend in my view - he worked with GW for a season apparently and knows the defense and he's a former Pro Bowl player who is healthy and ready to play. We need experienced, talented players who know the system in our secondary, at least as backups.

Re: Redskins Interested in Troy Vincent
if you bring him, who goes? if you have enough confidence to draft doughty, why not try him?

Re: Redskins Interested in Troy Vincent
Keep in mind, we do have the salary cap space available for this year. Cap space that is use it or lose it -- FOR THIS YEAR.
Signing him to a short term deal would be an extremely low risk/no risk proposition. He was cut for cap reasons by the Bills -- that was it.

Re: Redskins Interested in Troy Vincent
I don't know who goes; it could be someone from another position conceivably. The Redskins made a mistake to not have more depth in the secondary, and this is a golden opportunity to make it up. We have to put the best team on the field in my view, and Troy Vincent is an improvement.

Re: Redskins Interested in Troy Vincent
Vincent might be our #2 corner at this point.
I would also look at Marcus Coleman who was let go by Dallas this week. |

Re: Redskins Interested in Troy Vincent
Oh sure, bring in somebody else mid-season and let him adjust to the playbook on the fly while expecting miracles. And the fact that you can get him cheap -- you get what you overpay for.

No, no, no. Enough change, keep what we have and work with that. The season is bad enough, no need to pay tons of money this season, it is pointless.

Change is exactly what they need right now. Shake things up and work towards some cohesiveness for next year. They need secondary help. I say bring in every guy who is available and try them out. Something has to stick. |

Re: Redskins Interested in Troy Vincent
Carlos Rogers apparently broke his thumb today as well. Should help him catch some of those balls thrown his way now I suppose.
I think getting secondary help of any form right now is essential, especially with this latest injury. |
