Re: Bill B Presents TMC's Pick the Position Poll
Yeah I think we're ok at DT, Golston's emergence has made me feel a lot better about the position.

I don't know how much Griff and the Samoan have left. Overall I think you're probably right, get another DE opposite Carter. I think the line on both sides is what we need to shore up first and foremost

Need A DE opposite Carter who has come on of late. Springs looks very good when health. With him across from Rogers all year that would be solid. Need a Middle LB also!! |

Big Joe's days as a starter are done thanks to Golston, hopefully Montgomery can step up and contribute more next year. |

Re: Bill B Presents TMC's Pick the Position Poll
I was seriously torn. CB is a big need but if Springs is healthy he can be a good #1 and Rogers is fine as a #2. Then I thought of Safety and wondered whether our ineffectiveness there was based soley on talent or whether the overall sturggles of the D magnified the deficiency. DL is a strong candidate but we are adequate there. I said LB because Williams' D are predicated on quality LB play and we had some serious lack of play making or even adequacy at OLB. I think a guy who can play the run solid and make a few plays makes our D this past year at least average. And since I have no idea if Rocky can do the job I'd say that's where I'd add the player.

But overall we need upgrades almost accross the board. One wont make us good again.
I'd say: OLB CB S DE MLB would give us the most impact in that order. |

But I'd dig Briggs. Maybe long term that lineup would be sweet. Maybe Washington,Marshall,Briggs with Rocky working in at MLB by years end would be best. |

Re: Bill B Presents TMC's Pick the Position Poll
Briggs would be sick! We have corners, maybe draft one. Safety?? Who plays with Taylor is big, fox actually looked ok. DE definately someone else besides Carter. Pick up Briggs and move Rocky to the middle or vice versa. We can buy 5 new guys and expect them to gell......

Re: Bill B Presents TMC's Pick the Position Poll
He needs someone to take some pressure off him. When he was a beast 3 years ago JoeMoa was a Ted Washington/Sam Adams type DT who took up blocks and was basically a wall against the run. Since then Joe has regressed and simply isn't nearly as effective. Now Griff is banged up and has to take on more punishment in the middle. Golston progressing and Griff getting healthy will greatly improve our interior D next year I am thinking.

I felt the same way about Carter until the Atlanta game. He had 11 tackles and 1 sack. That is crazy for a DE to have that many tackles. His play has definately picked up. It would be one thing if he never showed those signs, think he turned the corner. Any thoughts on ST the big hitter? What is going on with him? Is it the coaches or what?? He's my favorite Skin but man he needs to make more plays. He gets like no picks or turnovers...... |

Re: Bill B Presents TMC's Pick the Position Poll
I picked DE as I think the Safety position (my second choice) will be fixed when Prileau makes it back next year and a contract extention on Troy Vincent. We need a dominant DE that can change the game and disrupt timing and get to the QB within 5 seconds! Our secondary looks a whole hell of a lot better with a good pass rush!

Re: Bill B Presents TMC's Pick the Position Poll
I think ST is looking to make too many big hits. I'd prefer his first line of intention to be to go get the ball. Not go hurt the guy with the ball.

Prileau? After he torn his whole knee out. Not sure about that one. Vincent? One blocked field goal, granted it was huge. We may have to hit the market for that position. Stinks b/c ST needs to gell with someone back there. |
