Re: Andy Reid taking a month off from the team
One of Joe Gibbs' reason's for retiring the first time was to spend more time with his kids. The demands of being an NFL coach are brutal on family life. Raising kids is a full-time job anyway, imagine how working 90-100 hour weeks affects that. Besides Andy Reid look at Tony Dungy's ordeal last year, these guys sure have to sacrifice a lot.

Re: Andy Reid taking a month off from the team
It is one thing to root for a team and therefore to root against the people who are associated with any rivals of your team. It's a totally different thing to revel in the kind of anguish that has to fall upon a family who just went through what Andy Reid's family did. Root for Reid and his system to make some horrid blunders and lose 15 games next year; that's fine. But to wish for him and his family to implode is just plain wrong.
Look at this through the other end of the telescope. SUPPOSE Joe Gibbs' kid was arrested for some kind of drug abuse thing and a poster on an Eagles' fan board said that he hoped that Gibbs' other son got in a trafffic accident and was turned into a tetraplegic just so a "division rival" would be weakened. How sick would you think that mythical Eagles' fan might be? I'd think a person like that was destined for the Ninth Ring of Hell... I don't know Andy Reid. From all of the stories I've read and heard about him, he is not an evil man. Root against him and his team; but don't root for horrid things to happen to his kids and his family because they happen to be related to the coach of another NFL team. That's waaay over the top!

Well that's true, there are certainly adults who should be acting like adults...that is why I say I don't pity Andy Reid, I pity his son(s) who are putting him through this. There isn't an excuse...when someone is old enough to die for his/her country, then he/she is old enough to show some common sense.

Re: Andy Reid taking a month off from the team
I didn't say Eagles' fans wouldn't revel in that kind of muck. What I asked is what YOU would think of people who did that kind of thing? You'd probably think they were supreme a$$holes on their best days.
So, I wonder why anyone would think it's "OK" to wish evil and travail on people whose only wrongdoing is to have Andy Reid as a relative? Sorry, I can't go there. I really hope that he and his family find a way to get all of this straightened out sometime in the next few years...

Re: Andy Reid taking a month off from the team
Andy Reid is doing the right thing! He's getting away from the "limelight" so he can handle some family business. Smart move.

I hope Reid gets everything sorted out as quickly as possible so I can back to rooting against him.

I don't think this will have much effect on the Eagles. But it sure won't have a good effect. And 9th ring of hell or not, I can't say I mind that. Just being honest. I could give two shitake mushrooms about Andy Reid's personal life. All I care about is his team. Anything (short of someone dying or coming down with a life threatening or dehabilitating disease) negative that happens to his team is good in my opinion.
