Portis and Moss restructure
I know you guys are wanting a link and normally I give them. I thought there would be a thread on this already but I can not find one on the internet. But I did just see on The Score (an all sports channel here in Canada) that the Redskins have restructured contracts with both Clinton Portis and Santana Moss. I hope this is true as that shows they really want to be here and help this team win. I hope tomorrow when I wake up there will be a link. I will be surprised that a kid from Canada was the first to see this report.

Re: Portis and Moss restructure
This is from the article discussed in another thread talking about Bly but here you are:
"Also, the Redskins reworked the contracts of Portis and star wide receiver Santana Moss, converting large portions of their 2007 base salaries to bonuses, which become guaranteed but can also be prorated for cap purposes. The players lose no money in the transaction, and Portis's cap figure went from $7.1 million to $4 million, according to sources, while Moss's charge was lowered from $5 million to $3.2 million." washingtonpost.com

Re: Portis and Moss restructure
So is this preliminary actions to bringing in Bly and giving him a big extension by freeing up cap room?

Re: Portis and Moss restructure
Okay, well I thought it would have it own thread since I think it is great news. So I guess I am not giving anyone new news, except those like me that did not read that in the Bly thread.
Thanks for the source, so now it is credible... Hail

Re: Portis and Moss restructure
we're about 9 mill under i think (per JLC)... wynn could still be let go and washignton, griffin and daniels could restructure still, though that obviously starts to bite you in the future.

Re: Portis and Moss restructure
hopefully we won't have to cut anybody, e.g. Wynn, since we're well under the cap. I'd be happy if we sign cheap vets at LG & TE to compete w/our draft picks, and call it an offseason (except for the draft of course). It'd be nice to enter next offseason w/few cap issues.
