The whole point of this thread is that he DOES have value to other teams...

And I say that the only team that would be remotely interested in him would be the Falcons and they have stated that Joey Harrington is their quarterback.

I feel quite comfortable with Brunell as the backup. He can't physically hold up for an entire season, but he definitely has from 0 to 3 games left in his arm and legs. Also, with him you can call any play you want so long as you remember to reverse sides with the boot action.

I agree, EARTH, it looks like Joey is the clear cut starter for the Falcons. I can see a possible trade after the season starts if Joey gets injured and the Falcons are actually winning.

Watch the game in Philly (or in Dallas or at New York or....) from last year and then I will give you a chance to re-do your post.

Not if they signed Aaron Brooks to replace him.

Not because Brunell was let go, the reason people would start crying is because we have no experienced backup capable of really leading the team that we know of right now, yes people would start crying if Campbell get's hurt, but most would shoot themselves if either Brunell or Collins see the field again.

Re: What!!!? Brunell to the Falcons?

i say we hold on to brunell hes good insurance and seeing how well our late round picks have panned out these past few years (Robert McCune, anyone? which is probably what would be offered for him) thanks to our mastery in the front office it doesnt look like we would get anything back for him

He led teams to the playoffs and would be considered one of the best backups in the league (according to people who are paid to analyze the NFL).

Falcons are looking for insurance in the form an experienced backup. They are also cautious just case Joey bag of doughnuts continues to play like Jeff George. Yes, they hope Joey will work but he is unproven. Brunnell while on the down side of his career, gives you a proven NFL QB and an above average backup. That is what Atlanta is looking for...insurance. Not a an expensive starter, they still have Vick's huge cap number to deal with.
