Just plain ugly

Yuck.

-- Campbell's out of sync
-- Moss missing perfectly thrown balls
-- Smoot getting torched -- they've been going after him all game
-- Cooley completely shut down

So far, not much different from a typical 2006 game

Re: Just plain ugly

we're definitly not as good as I thought we were gonna be. Hopefully Springs stays healthy all season.

But we did win and CP looks pretty good

Don't expect more of that.

I think the SKins played well. Sure we had some rusty issues, but Campbell threw the ball downfield very well...had Moss caught the balls, we would have won without needing OT.
Smoot pulling a Carlos Rogers at the end of regulation was a concern.
Overall though, we played a tough defense, and showed some good things to build on.

My BIGGEST concern, something you didn't mention, was our weak D between 10-15 yards. It also appeared we could have been torched deep if Green wasn't afraid to throw it. But again, the D looked good, and the O looked inconsistant, but showed signs of a team that could be dominant.

Whoa whoa, Cooley wasn't shut down.. He had to stay in and help Ts block Taylor most of time..

Yes, it seemed like the D was good if they were able to pitch a 3 and out, but once they started converting a couple of 3rd downs, things started to break down.

The secondary is still a concern. They were pickin' on Smoot something fierce. Why was he starting ahead of Springs?

And Carlos Rogers still looks like a fifth round pick, not a #9 overall.

I told you guys you were over-rating our offense. Randle El looked great though.

Re: Just plain ugly

plus that pass interference on Rogers towards the end of the game was complete horseshit.

Yeah, and I was getting an earful from a Phins fan during it.

I agree. 2 years and it still seems like this kid can't get it together.

If it was one player the Dolphins D keyed in on, it was Cooley. Yes, he was in for some blocking assignments, but he was in pass patterns too.

I'd say that when you hold a player like Cooley to one catch for 10 yards, you did a pretty good job shutting him down.

Depends on who you're talking about. This offense still looks a lot better than last years offense!

You said it about Randel El. What a shocker! I did not expect that! He even almost caught a ball thrown FAR behind him at the end of regulation.

Thank God we moved Lloyd to #3

Are we calling him a bust yet? Or does he have to give up some more INTs?

Re: Just plain ugly

I don't know about the rest of you guys...but I had to listen to the CBS announcers and Deirdorf and Gumble sounded like they were ready to climb out of the booth, walk down to the field, and start sucking Cam Cameron's d*ck...

They way they talked about him, you would have thought he was the second coming of Bill Walsh....

I'm glad we got the win...but we definately need to improve a little on defense...they lit us up underneath with those 5 - 10 yard passes...
