Re: Cardinals vs Redskins game thread

I think the quote of the day, is we lost games we deserved to win (both NYG/GB)...now we defintley won one that we should have lost.....I mean I'm very excited/happy we won...but that was one of the ugliest wins I've ever seen.

It seems to me we've always done that... No matter who's coached this team I can remember so many third and 5+ draw plays. Always pisses me off. It's like a Redskins' signature move...

I don't have a problem on third & seven with the draw to keep the clock moving, but why on 2nd and 7 with an injured line and a pathetic passing game do you not run the ball or throw a high percentage pass to keep the clock moving....if we keep the clock moving on 2nd down AZ probably doesn't have time to get in FG range and may not have scored the TD.

The only reason JC didn't look great was because he didn't open it up very much and when he did, they were dropping passes.

Last place in the division... I dunno. I don't think so. Our defense is too good. If the offense doesn't win games then the defense will (like today)

I think we may look at a wildcard position at best.
We already lost to the Gmen, forget beating the Boys at all and the Eagles are an improved team somewhat from the one we beat on MNF. If our O line was intact I would say we would be a 2nd place team for sure, but not how things have looked the past 2 weeks. WR production is terrible this season. Llyod hasn't been on the radar screen all season, and now Santana decides to start dropping off the screen now also. I still say give McCardell some more playing time. The guy is a gamer and we need production now.

I was thinking the same exact thing. This was a game we clearly deserved to lose.. In the paper that win counts as much as the Lions win but we'll take it.

Yes! I completely agree. McCardell has been put in when we need big 1st down gains. He only has 2 or 3 catches but he caught them!

Why they don't give this man more playing time I don't know! What the hell is the point of getting McCardell and Caldwell when you're not gonna freakin use them?

Re: Cardinals vs Redskins game thread

Yeah I have to take back the stuff about JC. A QB is only as good as his WR corp. WE paid all these bums top dollar and we get crappy play in return. Snyder needs to quit dolling out the cash so fast. Build with the draft and address needs. I say trade these bums(Lloyd, Moss, shoot even Thrash to sweeten the pot) with the exception of maybe Randle El( Caldwell and McCardell are exempt from my wrath) and draft a WR or two.

I don't completely blame the WRs--they need opportunities to make plays. That involves calling plays that attempts to put the ball in their hands. Downfield preferably (not on end arounds)...

Re: Cardinals vs Redskins game thread

Have to catch a decent ball thrown your way though NYC to make plays. Saunders is an ass, and he is a big part of it(offensive woes), but dropped passes by this calibre of a WR corp is unacceptable.

Oh really? What has he really done this season? Do you want to wait for him to probably turn in another subpar season in '08 and nobody will want him then? Guy is a shorty in a big mans game. We need tall, strong WR's that can either be possesion receivers, or can jump up for the long ball. I think Moss is toast. Put McCardell and Caldewell in if this keeps up. Trade Moss after the season, get younger linemen from either side of the ball or better yet a draft pick.

I agree--dropped passes are unacceptable. But you have to feed your playmakers. 1-2 passes/game to Moss/ARE/Lloyd is not acceptable. Our strength right now on offense is actually our QB. Let the kid sling it and stop handcuffing him with dink and dunk plays. If he is checking it down each time, fine, but I doubt that is happening. And if they want to run--how about trying it out of a 4 wide set? Spread the field and try Portis that way...

That would be a huge mistake. It's not like Moss is on the downward spiral of his career, he's in his prime.

You know what happens to Redskins trades and FA's: You let them go and they flourish somewhere else.

He needs to be here, he will produce if given the time and chance (and yes, I know he's gotten a lot of chances). Moss is getting a bad rap cause he hasn't had a 2006 season so far this season.
