FS out of Boston College
A finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award (he didn't end up winning it), he is 5'11'' 210lbs Senior, this guy could (not make up for our loss) be a great compliment to Landry.
This year, his Defensive Stats look like thisEFENSIVE LEADERS GP Solo Ast Total TFL/Yds No-Yds Int-Yds BrUp QBH Rcv-Yds FF Kick Saf ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 44 Silva, J 13 75 40 115 4.0-11 1.5-6 6-107 3 . 1-51 2 . .I think this guy would be a good fit. He finished with a team career record with 185 total tackles as well. |

Re: FS out of Boston College
but will phillips be available for us? he could go early in the draft, barring that we don't loose the rest of our season.

Re: FS out of Boston College
figuring the different needs teams have he should be. we have a nice size ol and dl players coming out this year. and if the colts and this year the patriots proved anything the ol and your front seven on defense is everything.he should still be around come 13-17 pick which is a shame cause if it wasnt a deep draft when it comes to ol and dl players with some possesion recievers he would be top 10

Re: FS out of Boston College
Silva is a good athlete, returns punts for them some, and is always around the ball. I think he could be a good fit too, especially if he falls to the 2nd or 3rd round.

Re: FS out of Boston College
Do we really need a FS in the first round??? I guess it sounds good but is that a need?

Re: FS out of Boston College
I'm still rooting for line help first, even if ST had not been killed, his coming back would not have solved the problems in the trenches.
We've been going after these high profile skill position type guys since Dan bought the team and it has not gotten us very far...time to look at some good quality young linemen on both sides of the ball esp. Defensive End and interior offensive line.

I can't think of a worse idea than drafting a rookie in the first round, for taylors position. Way to make sure a guy could never live up to the pressure.

Re: FS out of Boston College
We need a Dlineman.
Also no one is talking about it, but we need WR talent, because our WRs contracts are about to shoot out of the roof soon, so we might have to cut one or two. Oline is always a good bet as well.

Re: FS out of Boston College
I honestly think with a little more work our safeties will be fine. That is if they can keep playing at the level they did last night. We need a solid d-linemen and some depth at corner.

Re: FS out of Boston College
agreed
i think the safeties are fine with Landry and possible Doughty for next year. Doughty is a good "in the box" safety- basically what we were trying to get out of archuleta for a lot cheaper. we also need to look for Corner deapth. after seeing what heppend with smoot out last night we NEED another corner or two

Re: FS out of Boston College
we dont need a free safety since landry took over. i think he will play just fine at the position as the games come along. i think yesterday's move was brilliant to put landry at the free safety position and doughty played really well at the strong. we need a compliment and BIG wr next to moss and randel el is just better in the slot. ARE would be the perfect wes welker for us if we would just use the slot more often. second we need dline and oline. i say we go D line rd 1 bc of a considerable dropp off in talent after rd 1 for dline and then go to wr rd 2 and oline rd 3. oline always has depth in drafts
