Ray Rhodes was coach of the year in Philly in his first year making the playoffs an winning a first round game over the Lions. Then he proceeded to screw up the roster and several drafts and turned that team into the WORST team in the NFL (2-14). They had 2nd pick in the draft only because Cleveland had the 1st pick as an expansion franchise. That series of events got Ray Rhodes canned in Philly. The NEXT SEASON he was the head coach of the Packers; he missed not a single game as an unemployed head coach. After missing the playoffs there, he was told that on the basis of his one-year tenure that his services were no longer required. There may be a bit more behind Ray Rhodes not being a head coach than his not wanting to deal with pressures. That Guy: Based on what I've seen in the first 5 games, Marcus Washington is the best bet for the Pro Bowl this year. Arrington has been very ordinary because he tried to play hurt and then had the knee scoped. If he goes there this year, it may be on reputation and not performance. Sean Taylor is the 4th best player at his position in the NFC East at the moment. (There are only 4 teams in that division so that is not a big feather in his cap.) If he makes the Pro Bowl this year, check to see if space aliens have abducted about 10 of the NFC starters at that position. So far, Taylor's on the field performance has been insignificantly different from Iffy's performance on the field last year. My summary of Sean Taylor's accomplilshments so far is simple: He's always in the right place but not at the right time...

ST won't be in the Pro Bowl this year and I think your assessment of him is pretty accurate, SC.
However I think by year's end we'll start to see some flashes of what's in store for next year. I think he's very close to busting out. |

i was talking more long term than just this year, sorry... yeah ST has sucked up and arrington has missed a good deal of time already... and winning in the playoffs/SB gets you extra pro bowl nods too, so i doubt we'll get many in this year, but next year it looks like we could send more than 1 player (coles was an alt and champ skipped town)...
