Re: My worst Fear: V Cerrato Running the Redskins
He said it's improved over the last 5 or 6 years. Not that it was great 5-6 years ago.

We've only made the playoffs because the NFC is so weak....huh? Well being the Super bowl champions came out of not only the NFC, but the NFC EAST is that what you call weak, I'm sorry your points are just flat out merit less and retarded IMO.

Also, no team in the NFC East was under .500. We play in one of the toughest divisions in the league.

So what improvement do you see from six years ago to five years ago? Draft wise we actually regressed. The draft six years ago at least we kept Ladell Betts and Rock Cartright. The draft five years ago we kept none of them. Where is the improvement? |

Not a big fan of VC but there are SOME good things that VC has done in the early and late rounds and F-Agency as well.

Re: My worst Fear: V Cerrato Running the Redskins
Over half of last year's 6th and 7th round picks didn't make rosters. I guess that means that every personnel evaluator sucks.

Of course Cerrato is going to do the stand up thing and take responsibility for bad FO moves (I have more respect for him doing that). But, after reading the article it sounds like Cerrato has a pretty good focus on what needs the team has and it sounds like many of same things folks here have been pulling for. I don't think all our FO moves have been bad. Cooley - 3rd round same draft as Sean Taylor. So we passed on KWII who has had injury issues and got a Pro Bowl safety & Pro Bowl TE (advantage Cerrato). Anthony Montgomery - 5th round Reed Doughty - 6th round Kedric Golston - 6th round HB Blades - 6th round Lorenzo Alexander - UFA Stephon Heyer - Undrafted FA Pete Kendall Anthony Mix Casey Rabach Randy Thomas Chris Wilson Marcus Washington As far as ripping Snyder, how about you be in charge of a $1B football team with no experience. I'm sure you won't make any mistakes along the way..... Has Snyder's learning process been difficult for us a fans, absolutely yes. However he wants to win and isn't afraid to spend money to do it no matter what it does to the botom line. We should be thankful we have an owner who runs the Skins with passion and doesn't run it like a business with the only concern being the balance sheet. Let's put things in perspective, we made the playoffs two of the last three years. No matter how you slice it, that's the bottom line, and is a lot better than most teams in the NFL.

Re: My worst Fear: V Cerrato Running the Redskins
The one thing that people don't understand about GM's is a lot of them take teams apart and rebuild for 3 or 4 years. Look at the Falcons, they had a GM and where did that get them? The answer, a new GM that sent off two of the teams best players. San Francisco has a GM, look where that got them. And of course they all hide behind the "rebuilding" label which in my opinion is one of the worst things you can do to a team. Success breeds success. When you put your team in the hands of a bunch of young guys and expect to win 4-6 games a year your killing yourself for years to come.
A GM isn't always the solution and as much as I hated the process the fact remains that Vinny has brought in some good players over the past few years. Personally I think that hating Vinny Cerato is a party line that Redskin fans use as an outlet to channel their anger after ultra-conservative (on offense) Gregg Williams didn't get the job. Of course there are good GM's around the league as seen with the Giants, Colts, and Steelers, but seriously give Vinny a chance, like Zorn I think a lot of you are going to be pleasantly surprised.

Re: My worst Fear: V Cerrato Running the Redskins
At least now we'll know where Vinny stands as far as personnel decisions go. He's supposedly the fall guy now, where in the past it was always a bit of a mystery as to who was calling all the shots. We can now officially hold him accountable.
