Re: Redskins Release Brandon Lloyd

We should start (or just do it on this thread) a Brandon Lloyd sayonara rap series. I think it'd be hotter than Chris Cooley's wife.

He did say that. Bad. That was a John Cooke & Charley Casserly move. I think they signed Dan W. that same year.

Thanks for posting. So I guess the scouts did their jobs. Vinny, Snyder and Gibbs simply did not listen. Very surprising since Joe is so high on bringing character guys in. Lesson learned. The hard way.

I do love the selection of the Zornato and I believe I gave props to the great job Todd Collins did in saving the season.

The Wilkinson move was a trade too (did that involve a first rounder? So long ago), but he was actually somewhat productive in Washington for a few years.

The coaches and FO assesment of BL was as bad as his play.

Not that Redskins Warpath should be held to the same level of scrutiny, but the drumbeat on here was pretty loud too ... almost unanimously positive if you go back and look.

Don't forget Saunders. He was very high on this move.

It said that he was more worried about his dread locks and music career rather than playing football. Now if I can pick this out of a magazine then I'm sure our FO can pick up the phone and ask around. Don't ya think?? But hey, that's all in the past and he's a gone so let's move forward.

I'd prefer that we don't pick any wr's in the first two rounds. DE and guard would be my first two choices. It looks like we can and should make a move for Hackett. He's put up some big numbers when he's healthy so maybe he'll come here and take the next step. But only for the right price.
I think the real problem is that the Redskins knew of his problems but they thought they could change him. They were like that girl with the jerk boyfriend "I know he's an ass, but I love him and I can change him!!"

What's amazing to me is that in 2 years, he made $11 million and had a whopping 23 catches to show for it. In other words, about $500,000 per catch.

So Denver got Brandon Marshall with one of our picks. You know, the same Brandon Marshall that had 102 receptions for 1,325 yards and 7 tds last year. That 6-4 230 lbs. guy who is the reason the Broncos can trade Javon Walker without giving it a second thought. Another thing to keep in mind when we start getting too cavalier about trading away picks ....

YouTube - Brandon Marshall highlights
To be fair, I believe that pick was sent to Denver in the deal that brought us the pick that we used on Campbell the year before.

I almost think that Gibbs let Saunders call that shot.
