Arch was clearly a bad deal but I think Lloyd trumps him because he was COMPLETELY worthless and cost us much more (in money and picks) more than Arch.. For the financial waste of Arch, the draft picks compound how much we screwed that one up.

I'm not dead but this team is dead to me...but now that McCloughan is here they may have new life!

Jay Gruden = Zorny McSpurrier
Kirk Cousins = Next Grossman

Re: Who was the worst acquisition of the last 10 years?

Archuleta got a bigger contract than any other safty in NFL history and single handedly devastated a top 5 NFL defense and made it nearly the worst. At least George moved the ball at times and scored TD's. At least Dieon got 1 pick. Brandon Lloyd got some catches and even caught a TD pass in preseason. TJ carried the rock a few times, and Dana helped our run defense when healthy; but Arch destroyed us statistically and on the scoreboard, blowing coverage after coverage allowing TD after TD.

Although, I think Arch hurt us more on the field than Lloyd. Money and draft pick impacts are debatable. When it came to game time performance, Arch actually was a detriment to the team and made them worse.

If I were to add an "other" I might have to go with David Patten.
At least Patten had some good moments for us. When we got Duckett we had injuries so we did need a backup in case Betts got hurt.

I think if you look at total cost and production its hands down Lloyd.

lol my fault. Gotta read back a few pages. I asked about him since I was too young to remember if he was bad or good.

Thank you!! Stubby at least played and started for a few years. Yes he wasn't worth the money but he didn't down right suck. Duckett was bad but he didn't screw up our salary cap. George AT LEAST had one or two good games when Johnson was hurt. Remember the STL game on Mon. night? I honestly can't say one good thing about Brandon Lloyd.

Sanders was also a financial burden. Jeff George was a locker room cancer. A draft pick was also blown on T.J.. Bruce Smith, while I don't think he was the worst acquisition, probably hindered the development of younger, more deserving players. All of these are "substantial" arguments. I don't want to speak for anyone else, but I'm guessing that some of the people who chose Lloyd aren't just basing their choice on the blown draft picks alone. If Lloyd had a good attitude and had shown some effort like Duckett, I would imagine that he wouldn't have received as many votes. Lloyd was a waste of draft picks and Lloyd was also a creep. Lloyd probably would've been my second choice based on his rapping "skills" alone. He made Deion sound like NAS, but I'm still taking Deion as the worst acquisition. Emotion has a place in arguments about sports and as a Redskins fan, Deion's history with the Cowboys is substantial enough reason for choosing him. Jamie Asher is a close second .

It's one thing if you're a quiet loser but its a completely different story if you're a loudmouth ass.
Got that right. I'd have to give Lloyd the nod because we actually duped the Bears into trading something for Arch. Lloyd, we had to just cut with nothing in return.

My take on AA was yes he was bad, really bad, but even when he was benched the D stunk. There's no way he was the sole reason for the defensive struggles that year.

Yes, we gave up a 1st and 3rd in 99 for him, and a 2nd in 2000 for him. Steep price to pay.
But for all those that think Johnson was the biggest bust, he wasn't. He holds the Redskins single season record in completions, and is only the 2nd person in Redskins history to throw for 4000+ yards, and is second to only Jay Schroeder. For some reason he was on a short leash the following year, and DS wanted Jeff George, so we traded Johnson to Tampa, and in hindsight, that was a completely dumb move. Well, in foresight that was a dumb move too.
