All experts picking us to finish last in division

What is up with all of the "experts" picking us to finish last in the division? i find myself screaming at sirius nfl radio everytime they talk about how much better all the other teams are and how we will suck. They say all the other teams are so much better and made so many strides in the off season. They dont know what they are talking about. I dont neccessarily think we will win the division but I sure dont think we will finish last. Only time will tell

Go Skins, prove all these experts wrong!!

I like it when the experts hate on DC, it keeps us off the radar, and dosen't put as much pressure on the team. I think personally three NFC east teams make the post season, and the odd team out will be!!!! GIANTS

Re: All experts picking us to finish last in division

last year the experts thought the Giants would tank without Tiki Barber and Coughlin would be looking for a new job. They just don't like to bring that up when they are making predictions for this year. It makes them look silly. Like witchdoctors of the NFL....

Unless you can predict injuries you can't predict anything in the NFL.... except maybe that the Lions will find a way to suck.

I can see the Skins winning the division and I can see them finishing last. IMO it all depends on JC and if he can make to offense score points.

Well you've got to rank NY & Dal above us. They finished better than us last year and don't have as many questions. No brainer there.

Philly? There QB is more highly regarded than ours. They have been in the same offensive and defensive system for what seems like 10 yrs now. They've got, perhaps, one of the top 5 players in the league, Westbrook. The one question is can D McNabb stay healthy?

The skins...many questions. I think it's fair for us to be picked finishing last. I think we have a better team than that. I also think we've got a good shot at the playoffs this year.

The way i see it:

1st: Dal
2nd: Was
3rd: Philly
4th: Gmen

The Gmen got on a major role late last year. Prior to that they were an average team. I think they'll come back to reality. It's going to be tough going for all in the best league top to bottom in the NFL.

Re: All experts picking us to finish last in division

I've heard some analysts predict the Skins could be a sleeper team.

Don't sweat the predictions too much. Every year there are plenty of teams that come out of nowhere and plenty of teams that tank. It's like the experts just take last year's finish and based their predictions off that. Nobody goes out on a limb.

My sleeper team this year is The Panthers, mark that in the books!

You would think Skins fans would get used to this. Then again, most of today's fanbase loves wallowing in indignation.

well put, I think most of us take after the seeminly always disrespected athletes who love to wax vindictive, "nobody thought we could do it" "they never give us any respect" and so on.

The ironic thing about predictions is that now the nfl is so huge yet so unpredictable. There are more people to listen to these predictions, i.e. us, even though they're nowhere near as reliable as say DR. Z was back in the 80s.

I think picking the skins last is a safe prediction given the changes. Last could be 8-8 like Philly was last year when they were the only nfc east team not in the playoffs. You just can't consistently accurately pick the middle of the pack nfl teams these days.

Thumbs up Re: All experts picking us to finish last in division

"F" the so-called experts. They think they know everything and I'm sure they've done their research to give us their educated picks. However, like one of the other members pointed out on here, the experts picked the Giants to suck and look what happened to them. I'm not saying it's going to be a Giants-like season for us this year, but I do believe we will be contenders for the division and make the playoffs.

well said! I know that most of us are big homers on here, but I don't pay much attention to the national coverage we get, I listen to facts and make my own judgments. At the end of the day, its not what people think or hope, its what actually happened. So let's wait and see1

You should see what they were saying after we started 0-2 and gave up 80 points in 2 games..........

So are they going to be better then us this year and finish behind us in the standings?

Very good points. There are arguments for just about all teams other than Dallas finishing last, but ultimately only one team will and it makes as much sense to pick the Skins to finish in the basement as the Eagles or Giants. I don't take offense to it. I suspect that most experts who pick the Skins to finish last would not be surprised at all if they didn't. It's a tough division to call, and without question the most competitive from top to bottom in football.

That's not really what he's saying. He's basically saying that of course experts would likely predict the Giants to finish ahead for those reasons, but he feels that the run they went on is not likely to be repeated. I agree with that; in addition they will be suffering from the SB hangover, which hurts a lot of teams. I mean no disrespect to the Giants (although I hate them), just that it's tough to work up to that level after having accomplished the ultimate goal.
