i like the move .. Not giving up anything . rock is great FOR SPECIAL TEAMS, i mean this moves does not hurt, to have a back who knows the system to help spell CP .. rock is a great kick returner and a great redskin however this team needs to treat this season as a special season, the table has been laid out for a strong deep run to the playoffs, another set of legs can't hurt .. all HAIL ..
HIP HIP .. HOORAY

SA isn't gonna be in mid season form. Will he truly be able to give CP a rest?

SA at vet min isn't a bad idea.
even if he sucks, it's not like you have anything invested in him... and there's still a chance he could play well in a limited role, which outweighs the non-existent risk. |

re: Redskins Sign Shaun Alexander (Merge) *updated*
he might know some of it.. seeing that the backs do run some pass routes... does anyone have stats on SA as a receiving back?

We have a good third down back, CP. He is in there every critical play. Why would they put someone off the street in that situation and ruin the team chemistry.

It's really odd that Alexander isn't even on a team. Usually when a rb loses his mojo it's time to retire, but maybe he still wants to prove something. I have no idea what to think about this except that it feels funny.

If I had to guess I'd say Alexander will look soft. I think they are giving him a look as due diligence. The guy was MVP caliber just a few years ago and Zorn and Stump Mitchell were coaching his team's offense at the time. With the Betts injury (if it is "at least a few weeks" as reported), we're going to need to sign a RB for sure. Why not give the guy a look? It's not like Portis or even Betts are in danger of losing their roles when healthy.

SA is washed up. He is mentally and physically soft.
Dont ruin team chemistry. Rock is not a bad player, Give him his carries and bring in a young guy just incase. I think we should bring back broughton and move him to RB from FB. |

re: Redskins Sign Shaun Alexander (Merge) *updated*
Come on, at vet minimum this is a good move. A recent MVP as our backup can only mean good things for us. Smash them with Portis or smash them with Alexander. Just think if Alexander is anywhere near close to his old self. Damn what a two pronged HB threat we would have. ANd if he does run like last year, oh well he is the backup and like a guy said above we h ave Rock. It is a no lose situation really. Damn the Browns really kicked New York's ass.
