Re: Redskins Release Torrence
I'd rather they cut Springs instead of Torrence. Torrence might not be very good in coverage, but at least he plays more than 2 games a year.

Doesn't it make sense to anyone else that they release the old guy that is going to be replaced by the new guy who is replacing him? Also, Tryon is a first year corner who may have potential. Remember that this is the first year Rogers has looked good, even though he was a first round pick a couple of years ago. I'm sure that if Jerry Grey thought Torrence was that important he would have made sure they released someone else. Just try to keep "4th corner" in perspective guys.

Re: Redskins Release Torrence
We should totally cut Portis and pick up Travis Henry while we're at it. :frusty:

Re: Redskins Release Torrence
I think it was an ironic statement.

Re: Redskins Release Torrence
Good for Torrence. He lands work, I think with a little help from Jerry Gray.
Posted at 5:01 PM ET, 11/10/2008 Torrence Finds Spot in New Orleans From Jason La Canfora: Recently released cornerback Leigh Torrence was claimed off waivers by the Saints and Vikings, according to sources. He was awarded to New Orleans based on fact that they have a worse record. Among the teams that expressed interest in having him visit had he become a free agent were the Patriots, Bears, Eagles and Ravens.

Re: Redskins Release Torrence
Hey while were at it......does anyone know why Brunell was throwing with his right hand in his last game? Probably not the place but wasn't he a lefty with us and some of the excuses were that the ball spins the wrong way for the WR's? I kept watching the game just to make sure I was seeing it right.

Re: Redskins Release Torrence
I honestly thought that if Hall stuck they would cut Springs next year. I kind of agree. Torrence was a real talent that would have made a great fourth corner next year. We would be able to go into next years draft with out even thinking corner. If it were up to me I would have released Fincher. Cerrato said they might only keep five LBs prior to the season and load up the practice squad. That is what I would have done. I love the Hall adition, but letting a corner like Torrence go was careless.
