Re: News from up North
Rock is a gamer on ST. I've never understood why some want him gone.

Re: News from up North
Shaun Alexander came to this team to be the back-up to our back-up for super cheap money. If we're going to pick up a RB for the future, it needs to be one we pick up in the next year or two in the first or second round. Not some scrub that fans have a man-crush on, who cannot get off the practice squad in any team, and was completely destroyed by a first-string defense. And don't forget that our running game problems were partly b/c of our run blocking and our lack of a passing offense.

Re: News from up North
Has there ever been a more meaningless statement?
Yes, Mr. Irrelevant. lol. Cartwright excels at his role on the team. I'm sorry I just don't get this statement. What does he excel at? All he is, is a kick returner for kick offs only. I don't recall hearing his name on any of the tackles when we kicked off to the other team. I kept hearing Thrash, Horton, and Thomas making most of the tackles. Considering Rocks a beast on special teams Yes he's a beast if you consistantly want to get to the 20 to 30 yard range. It's not like he's a threat to break one to the end zone. I think he has done one in like 2-3 years or more. I think we are looking at all our RB's and how they are getting older and slowing down, even Portis. We would most likely keep Portis cause he is a beast and for his size can pound the ball between the takles. Don't get me wrong I like what Rock has done for us but I can't see keeping one guy solely for the purpose of being a KR. If Dorsey comes in and can show he's worth something and not only be a KR but a PR also then I would be looking to cut Rock and maybe even Betts in order to keep Portis as our solid RB and Dorsey as our smaller younger scat back/KR/PR. |

Re: News from up North
He only had 9 ST Tackles last year. He combined for 4 40+ yard returns equaling his amount from the previous 2 seasons. He only averaged 2.5 yards per carry and only caught 1 pass for negative yardage. He is the ST captain though.

Oh, yeah forgot that he was the ST Captain. Yep, clearly a beast. Look I'm not saying he's garbage. Just saying if we can get someone who can fill more then one roll ie; being a KR/PR/ and an actual RB to spell Portis would be great as a change up. If he fill this roll good for us if not cut him. I love how people are quick to put down Marcus Mason but please don't put down Thomas for not doing to well vs the first stringers or Kelly. Please don't give me the Kelly was hurt crap either. He was out up until mid season. He technically was ok to play after our mid season break they just didn't activate him or used him very little. If you are going to say they needed time to grow into their roll and 1st year WR never usually do well then please use the same justice for Mason. Mason was cut to make room for either more WR's cause Kelly was hurt and they didn't want to IR him or CB's. Simply put we needed space. Why they wouldn't cut Westbrooke is beyond me but apparently he's worth something of which I can not see. |

Redskins are reportedly also interested in bringing in Brandon Guillory of the Edmonton Eskimos (he's Chris Wilson-esque)
