It's still a hundred times better thread than the one comparing Orakpo to LaVar Arrington or the one asking if Orakpo was going to be the next Gholston.

Re: Favre a free agent

This makes it a better chance that he will return... which would be absolutely ridiculous.

I thought that it would just make it able for him to retire as a Packer?

Please, please, please, stay retired Brett. You have become the epitome of redundancy.

I dont know... i think he would unretire to play for the Vikings. Favre + Vikings = a good chance of going to the superbowl. Theyve got a great team - they just need a QB.

Favre is quickly approaching Testeverde territory though. He turns 40 in October. He simply isn't injury prone anymore, and those balls that he used to fit into tight windows have been progressively turning into INTs more and more every year since he turned 35, save for one abberation season.

I'd actually argue that the Vikings are better off with one of many young QBs, maybe even JD Booty, if not Jackson, under center.

Re: Favre a free agent

If Favre were to come back, and I really doubt he will, I would think this year he would make up his mind sooner rather than later. I think he saw last year just how difficult it is to join a team in training camp and try to get up to speed with a new offense and teammates.

Re: Favre a free agent

With Farve nothing would surprise me but he did say last year he had trouble keeping up hi level of play later in the season. I just think he now knows its time to retire but I'm sure with this move we will here some rumors.

Re: Favre a free agent

I want to point out that it's a totally different dynamic to get ready for another year when you are coming off of Favre's 2007 than off of Favre's 2008. He may be fickle, but he's not delusional. He's only going to come back if the Vikings put heavy pressure on him to do so. I doubt he really wants to play right now.
