Anyone know if WR drops are tracked anywhere? I'd like to know where Moss stacks up exactly.

Dcbuchanon, Mosley also has a raging hard on for Campbell, so since it is an "expert" I guess JC is gonna win MVP.

Wondered the same thing myself as it seems there are whole stretches where Moss and the other WRs get the dropsies...playoff against Seattle in '07 one of the worst I remember.

I loooooove this bit about Thomas. He's got all the athleticism in the world...i mean IMHO that's obvious as soon as the ball is in his hands. He needs to develope his WR skills to bring out the potential and then it's off the races...this kid could just be huge.

According to Outsiders:

dropped passes are not specified in publicly available play-by-play, and unfortunately we cannot yet correct for this.

iWon - NFL League Stats

No idea how they're defining "passes dropped" though

Re: Matt Mosley Predicts a Break Out Year for Thomas

i dont think dropped passes really effected or should be weighed to heavily in analyzing our inability to get things going thru the air. dropped passes are going to happen. but they can be killers like:

the 1st play of the reg season 2 (or 3 seasons ago) years ago where gibbs called for a play action deep ball to llyod. everyone executed, JC threw a perfect long ball and lloyd just dropped the damn thing.

playoff game against seattle, second half, seahawks never touched the ball on a kickoff, that tall receiver we picked up from NYG recovered the ball, TC threw a ball to cooley near the sideline at the 2 but cooley dropped it. i think a penalty gets called pushes us back, suisham misses the fg. momentum killer.

these individual drops on important plays really stick out to me more than any of our receivers having a consistent case of the dropsies like braylon edwards or TO for that matter.

i really like the idea of going into next season with thomas and davis as 2nd year players. i think both have the potential to be big time players, especially the raw athletic ability of davis. thomas to me seems alil to thin or frail to be that tall physical reciever but we shall see. he comes off to me as a torry holt more than a TO. thin, lanky, tall with good speed and cuts, hopefully he can learn to run routes like holt.

go skins!!

So let's say in '10 Kelley becomes the #1, Thomas the #2 and Moss in the slot? What does the team do with Randle El. Does he strictly become a punt returner?

I don't see the Skins keeping ARE at his salary structure for being a punt returner. Looking at the Salary Cap Summary on this site I don't think the Skins can let go of ARE until 2012 due to his large release fees, but then again I did not think they would have let go of Jansen for this reason either.

If ARE can't contribute as a #3 WR I really think his pay would justify getting cut.

I agree. I would add that he seems to have lost a little explosiveness, perhaps. In all of these dream WR scenarios, I see ARE packing his bags.

Winning may help to resolve that. When we were 6-2 last year the media were eating us up. Then...

Re: Matt Mosley Predicts a Break Out Year for Thomas

The media is going to promote the winning teams. Let's be frank, the Redskins are not a winning team. They are a .500 team and have hovered around that mark since Dan Snyder has been owner. At times, the team looks good. The personnel on the roster look great but the results are mediocre. Until the team reaches its full potential, the media will continue to write them off. Realistically, what have they done to gain respect? I love this team but it is dysfunctional. Too many hasty decisions and knee jerk personnel moves.
