Re: Vick conditionally reinstated by NFL (updated)
I'm glad as it appears the SKINS have zero interest in this clown.
I could only imagine what this would do to camp (or the circus show that would follow) or JC's last chance to prove himself.

Re: Vick conditionally reinstated by NFL (updated)
It would have nothing to do with Goodell suspending him. It would have more to do with teams not wanting to bother with a guy who would make such comments.

Re: Vick conditionally reinstated by NFL (updated)
If you say so. If a team is considering him in the first place, knowing his history, I can't see such a comment playing a role. But, this is all hypothetical anyway.

Well if I was growing pot in my house and the cops came knocking and asked if I was grown pot I sure wouldn't say, "Yea, come on in and check them out".

You don't think that would play a role, really?

Re: Vick conditionally reinstated by NFL (updated)
No, not if a GM/Owner is a rational human being I do not. Seriously, if this guy, which by all accounts is a dirtbag of the first order, took accountability (I killed dogs, i'm sorry) but also stated a fact (there are others in the league guilty of , if not worse, crimes of a similar scale) what is there to punish him for? If they're not going to forgive him, that's fine. I could care less. But if you're going to forgive him, then it's over, that's the end of it. To continue going after him for telling the truth is a little disingenuous, especially considering that everyone was initially so upset over the fact that he lied repeatedly about his involvement. Should he only tell the truth in a manner that people want to hear? I don't think that's for anyone else to say. Had he confronted this head on in such a manner initially, i doubt this would have reached the level it did.

Re: Vick conditionally reinstated by NFL (updated)
imho, that's an emotional response. If you're looking at it from the PR perspective though, I agree with you. On an intellectual level, I have no issue with him acknowledging his mistakes, and making a straightforward comparison to the misdeeds of others. If he's getting attacked after joining a team, I think he would be within his rights to bring up such a point.

His best approach PR wise now and for a very long time will be to say nothing. |

When Zorn says no Wildcat, Cerrato says "No", and the reliable talking heads, John Clayton etc. have the Skins as "No way". I'm not worried about it. Vick doesn't fit what Zorn's trying to do at all. Quick reads, quick release, accuracy, none of these are qualities Vick has ever had. I'd put any of our back-ups (even Brennan, LOL) in long before Vick.

Re: Vick conditionally reinstated by NFL (updated)
If not for the inevitable pr issue that would ensue (at least for a while), Vick would be great in dc. He could return punts & play wr w/a very limited role. Just to get him the ball on a screen pass would command some attention. He could play ARE's gadget plays much better & can throw an incredible bomb.
As a standard qb though, I agree w/those that say he's not needed here. Whoever (Al Davis) signs him will likely look at a variety of ways to get him the ball, direct snap or otherwise. |

Vick needs to go to the Raiders...but he'll probably end up with the Redskins. I hope not, but my wishes aren't of any concern to Snyder.
