Senate Majority Leader Reid has racist comments towards Obama come to light

Funny how everyone is "so sorry" as soon as they get caught. Things continue to look up for the GOP in the mid-term elections this fall...

Tisk tisk Mr. Reid. I mean, who uses the word "negro" anymore anyway??

The truth is many of these politicians, from both sides, are from super rich white, out of touch with reality, families. They have very little in common with the average minority and probably have limited interactions with them too.

Hence these types of comments.

No one uses negro, except blacks on occasion. But even that is rare.

A white person saying negro is almost as bad as Michael Richards calling blacks Afro-Americans.

Actually, it's on the 2010 US Census. People are asked to pick Black, African American, or Negro.

No kidding?!

What is w/ Senate leaders...they always turn out to be dbags. Was Frist just before Reid or further back? I remember seeing a documentary how his "family business" which I believe is Health South had taken the government and general public for billions in bogus claims etc. He was the same POS moron who stood on the Senate floor and swore his diagnosis of Terri Schiavo (sp?) proved she had full mental capacity... and then like two weeks later the autopsy showed she was brain-dead. Sooooo yeah not only a crook but a really shitty doc as well.

No biggie. Reid apologized, Obama's not tripping off it.

Oh, don't count your chickens just yet for the mid-terms. Lots of politics left before we go to the polls.

Maybe he will say " sorry for how horribly we have failed the American people the past 3 years " .... but I doubt that . Not many in Nevada like him anymore .

Sorry is a word used to remorse accidental situations and circumstances. In this particular instance the word is not appropriately being applied.

WHOA!!! I am just shocked that a liberal would say such things, esp Harry Reid! I thought Reid and his fellow liberals were above such comments unlike conservatives!

Harry Reid looks down on everyone! Remember those comments he made about tourists stinking up the Capitol building during the summer? The guy is an elitist who is completely out of touch with reality. Time to get rid of this bum!

Really? I am a Black man, not Negro, or Nigger, African American, I know who I am and what I am, I don't need anymore label's to describe me, I can careless about the racist here or anywhere, I wouldn't doubt that some of you here said it behind close door's or in presence of your good "ole boy buddies", You are what you are, simple minded and stupid, and I am sure if you feel like that now, you will feel that way forever.

No biggie? Strongly disagree there. If it was someone on the other side of the aisle, Rham and Co would be up in arms big time. Obviously Obama isn't going to be doing his party any favors if he flips out on his own Senate Majority Leader. You are African-American, right? Would you be upset if a close co-worker said these things about you?

As far as the mid-terms, the Dems are gonna lose their 60-40 for sure. Check this out:

I am curious. What is offensive about the term Negro? Just....no longer in vogue? A matter of PC?
AND, I am not trying to offend here.

My best friend's grandparents (who are white) used the term Negro to my face, but they also call Asians, "Orientals" and I think its just because they don't know any better. It's the time period lived through so I don't think badly of them at all.

But if someone I'd say under the age of 50 started throwing the word Negro around, I'd be like what the hell? There are too many bad images and stories tied to the word. I'm also not down for people using the term, "colored" which seems to be trying to make a comeback. I'm just black. Not Negro, not African-American. Just black. I'm not speaking for all black people, just for myself, but if someone addressed me as Negro, I'd probably kick them in the junk.

To me it's kind of like calling someone Japanese a "Jap". It's just in really, really poor taste.
