Yeah, without Schroeder we had an offense which won the Bowl (yay Doug Williams). With Schroeder, the offense sputtered. And the only real difference was Schroeder. He had the physical tools, it was just that he did not inspire folks to bring their A-game.

I don't know how much this thinking should or should not apply to Clausen.

Skins will work out Tim T-bone.

With improved mechanics, Tebow shows 'he's a quarterback' - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

My most memorable Schroeder moment was after Joe Theismann went down on MNF and he came in and lit it up! I was like HELLO Jay Schroeder!

I think we all were at that particular moment, especially Jay Schroeder. Unfortunately for him his ego wore thin on the team fairly quick.

Mock draft 3.0: Domino effect, need for OTs, could drop Suh

Not a huge fan of Bucky Brooks' analysis, but he's well networked, and in particular, his mock didn't come off as someone who was just trying to make a name for themselves by throwing crap at a wall. There's some interesting happenings here.

But we can't have it both ways. People say Campbell is too soft, not vocal enough, and somehow infer that he's not a passionate and capable leader. And now Clausen is too cocky and incapable of leading players. Well we don't know that for sure, do we? I tend to be in the camp if you're winning leadership takes care of itself. I think there really is a fine line between being an asshole and being passionate.
Well, the America's Game documentary for that Super Bowl year basically mentions that he conducted himself as if he was 'above' the o-line. It's on hulu.com if you're interested.

I could definitely see some surprising things happening this coming draft. Between teams adjusting their needs through free agency and the potential for trades, this should be a very interesting draft.

When Doug Williams left SB XXII on the last series of the 1st qtr. and was replaced by Schroeder, he was sacked on the very first play. Doug later said even if his leg had been broken there was no way he was going to stay out of that game, knowing after being down 10-0 our chances would have diminished with Schroeder.

Agreed. I seem to remember another Redskins QB who many thought was cocky and a prima donna, that turned out with a SB XVII win and a record setting offense in the next season.

A link from the OM Field on Clausen, not bad info:

I agree with the NFL total access people, if you get tebow and want him to be successful, he has to go to an Indy or New England to learn from some great older QB, to even be successful in a few years from now, and this is coming from a huge florida gator fan, whose been watching tebow closely for the last 4 years.

If we spend our first pick on him I would immediately start questioning the sanest of our front office. This guy is not a first round pick based on his play. If your impressed over rated combine stats, then yes he is a first rounder.

Funny thing about that is with those odds Tebow (assuming he is drafted by NE or Indy) has a better chance to make it then say Bradford. So much great talent goes to black hole teams and they wash away.

If he asked, Theismann being a ND guy would probably let him. C'mon, get on the Clausen bandwagon.....I saved a seat for ya.
