Re: Courtney Brown
Redskins | The Favorite to Land Brown? - from www.KFFL.com
Tue, 15 Mar 2005 11:50:38 -0800 Nunyo Demasio, of the Washington Post, reports the Washington Redskins could be the favorite to sign free agent DE Courtney Brown (Browns), who was recently released by the Cleveland Browns. According to sources, Brown believes Washington offers an ideal situation since he would reunite with LB LaVar Arrington, who he played with at Penn State. In addition, Brown likes the idea of playing for Gregg Williams, Washington's assistant head coach for defense, and Greg Blache, the defensive line coach known for helping players reach their potential. ... Personally I like the idea of signing Brown, preferably to a deal contingent on playing time - with his recent health issues I feel that we could have them put down as unlikely to be earnt bonuses. He had the talent to be the #1 overall selection, and we were seriously considering him at either #2 or #3 in that draft if Arrington was picked first - if we were to get him it would mean we would have the first 3 players from that draft on our roster! I think part of his injury problems COULD BE (1) bad luck and (2) possible poor coaching/technique at Cleveland combined with poor strength/conditioning training? |

Re: Courtney Brown
Brown is black and blue. He is a walking manikin only he is too damaged to be fixed. Even the venerable Lord Duck Tape can’t help him. I say NO to Brown!

Re: Courtney Brown
i say give the guy a chance.we took a chance on darrell gardner, and he had a good year in washington.if CB had the talent to be a #1 pick,he deserves a 2nd chance.

Re: Courtney Brown
Hindsight 20/20, how did he do with Denver this year? I really didn't hear much from him.
I guess even with him leaning toward Denver anyway, I think it was still a good "non-signing" for us. |

Re: Courtney Brown
a lot of times pass rushing DE's get good stats but leave gaping holes(Bruce Smith was the worst offender of all time) Wynn and Daniels are not productive from a statistical perspective but they provide a solid push, good run d, and they are good at getting their hands up(which is underated). i think we are better off spending our money on a fa wr.
