And I think it's a bit of a stretch to say Edwards was a joke in Cleveland
People up here made fun of him, even Browns fans, And do you really want to give up a lot of $$$ and a draft pick for VJ? I mean we seem to be putting all of our eggs into one basket like always. Getting high priced FAs to win now? Sounds vaguely familiar, just like the regime we all hated so much for so long at Redskins Park. Sure he is talented, but if you really wanted a stud WR so bad to win now, should have just got TO, no picks would have been had to be sacrificed. VJ could come in here and be a cancer just as much as TO could, but I think TO realizes the end is nearing for him and he has no rings, so he is going to be a good boy. Not so sure about VJ.

I don't want to trade for Jackson, don't believe I ever said I did

As for Edwards, people can make fun of him all they want. And I agree for the #3 overall pick his numbers weren't outstanding but he had some pretty nice numbers for the Browns during his time there

Re: On the radar: Skins WR's

I agree about Edwards. I thought he did decently, but he had the case of the dropsies more than a lot of folks in Cleveland could handle. Reminds me a bit of Gardner for us. Statwise Rod wasn't all that bad, but it was what could have been if he caught the balls he should have that pissed us off. We need to stay pat with the WR corp for at least this season, and draft one next year. I do not like us still putting the focus on FA acquisitions to be our cure all. I would love to win now, but rather go through 8-8 or 9-7 for a couple seasons to build a consistent winner. Damn, we have waited so long for it, might as well wait a tad longer.

Re: On the radar: Skins WR's

I just wanna point out that Sidney Rice who had a crazy turnaround in 2009 hadn't really done anything before Favre got there so does Favre to Rice in 2009 = McNabb to Thomas in 2010. Thomas is entering his 3rd year just as Sidney Rice was last season.

Their wasn't a whole lot between them coming out of college. But the biggest difference is that during their rookie years, Rice adjusted well to the NFL game. He picked up Chilly's playbook right away, and contributed to the 2007 Vikings offense. He was targeted 53 times that year.

Thomas, well, he didn't and wasn't.

I would have bet against both of them coming out of college, but Rice has proved me wrong. Thomas, not so much.

We will get the answer about Dt rather quickly. I just hope we don't get Jackson.

Even though he was targeted 53 times he hadn't made that impact until Favre got there.

Re: On the radar: Skins WR's

I have heard from a "Source" who coached Brandon Banks at B.C that he will make the Redskins roster as the primary PR/KR. Any one else heard otherwise?

That was my initial thought too, but do people call that BC?

Anyway, as I understand Banks isn't a lock by any means. But he really impressed this past weekend with his ability to contribute on special teams without the ball in his hands

Clearly not by his tackling but unless he craps the bed or get injured in the next 2 weeks he seems like a classic Shanahan end of the roster guy who ends up making an impact.
