Smoot Lays The Smack Down (Redskins at Eagles)
First and foremost we came out fighting after looking so week last week. Now we're 2-0 in the division including a road win. That's huge. Nonetheless time to lay some smack down.
Stephon Heyer I'm not sure I can even blame him anymore. He's trying his best out there. It's the coaches who keep believing in him and putting him out there that I blame. Mike Sellers A fullback who can't block, can't catch, and instead of powering over guys when he does catch a ball does some weird hybrid Nehemiah-Baryshnikov impersonation. Just power over the guy already. Screen to Banks on 3rd and goal from the 3 Uh...no Torain's Blocking I may be the biggest ATV fan here but I'm not blind to his piss poor blocking. He needs to do much better if he's going to be our feature back. Carlos Rogers Twice already you should have sealed a win with an INT. Take a cue from MeAngelo and learn to catch the damn ball already. Donovan McNabb I expect smarter decisions from a veteran franchise QB. Stay in bounds, don't throw dumb INTs and I really believe there were times our receivers could have made plays had McNabb been quicker to find him GameDay Thread We didnt trail the entire game and won s huge game on the road against a division opponent yet the whole thread was about how much we suck and we were destined to lose the game. Even a post-game Positives thread is peppered with negatives and how we're just lucky, yet somehow bad luck never has anything to do with our losses. Are we really so incapable of enjoying a win, even an in-game lead? Sure seems that way

I totally avoided the game thread today because I had a feeling it would be chuck full of whining and complaining. The game was much more enjoyable to watch that way.

ES using ATV - My nickname for Torrain was stolen without so much as acknowledging my creative genius. This is unforgivable.

Huge win!
And Banks should not be on the field when we're near the goal line.

LOL. When did it become your nickname for him? And I think since you can't even spell his real name right you don't get dibs in his nickname

I hear you SS. I'm so amped after ANY win, and we beat the Eagles in a HUGE game! And people are saying they're not sold on this team... C'mon man!
Revel in this victory, we have all week to talk bout the negatives... a win is a win

No, I said Torrain needs a nickname. And you said how about ATV? Therefore I came up with the nickname, not you.

Re: Smoot Lays The Smack Down (Redskins at Eagles)
We have issues but in all honesty...we're so different as a team than we have been the last two years. There's just zero way we win a game like that under Zorn. We HAVE to get better all over the place but we don't look so completely inept as to depress me.
I think Heyer is about as decent a backup tackle there is. He isn't good but how many teams having starting level tackles on the bench? |

It is annoying how quiet things are after a win.

Yeah I am fan of getting Banks on the field. Not in the red zone though. We need to use him in a Desean Jackson way. DJ doesn't catch a lot of TDs in the red zone.

Re: Smoot Lays The Smack Down (Redskins at Eagles)
Love the win! Only lingering issue is it drives me nuts that Kyle gets 'creative' in the red zone. Try that junk on 2nd and 4 from the 45 yard line, not from the 3..
Matty, I'm with you.. I haven't spent very much time around these parts recently, but I avoid the game day thread because I'd rather enjoy a win than read armchair GMs dissect each and every player and their role.

ONe of my biggest bones to pick ... Sellers almost fumbled on the leap over Samuels, then he had butterfingers again on the next drive that should have lead to an INT. I have no faith in him late in games

Re: Smoot Lays The Smack Down (Redskins at Eagles)
I am so stoked after this win. We beat Philly in their house. Huzzah!
I'm more positive about Heyer. While his penalties were killers (especially two when the play was to the other side of the field - doh!), Trent Cole was a nonfactor. I'm not saying that he's ready for the Pro Bowl but my estimation of him has risen. Sundberg, however, scares me more than ever as a long snapper. The last two weeks he's gotten away with some bad snaps but sooner or later he's going to kill us.
