Re: Smoot Lays The Smack Down (Redskins at Eagles)

In regards to the negative attitudes on the game thread, I dont see a real problem with it . There was carry over from the super frustrating last second Houston loss, and the Rams game was just piss poor from start to finish. I can understand the negative attitudes yesterday...I know I had a couple comments, but when you see the samething over and over it gets frustrating. I mean whether we lay smackdown during the game or just 5 mins after it...really makes no difference to me. Saying Mike Sellers sucks balls during the game or just after it...its the samething, Mike Sellers sucks.

To dismiss the win is a completely different thing, thats really not understanding NFC East football. To win in this conference on the road, its always physical and always super ugly.

I was reading a Giants gameday thread when they had 9 sacks and only a 3-0 lead and the difference was night and day vs. ours. If I was only following the game based on our gameday thread I would have thought we were getting blown out.

Saying Mike Sellers sucks during the game is one thing. Saying Mike Sellers sucks, now we're going to lose the game even though we're winning by two scores, have the ball and the clock is running is another.

End of the day, what matters to me is we won and I'm happy about that. Whether others are doesn't really make a difference I suppose

Re: Smoot Lays The Smack Down (Redskins at Eagles)

I haven't read the entire thread - but then I don't think I need to. It's the same people saying the same things since Gibbs II. "Doom Doom Doom".

Look, I hate it when we lose, but - dammit - WE F'ING WON. Sure, it wasn't pretty and, yes, there are some serious issues that need to be addressed. So, should we bring back Vinny and his "quick fix" method? Or - maybe, just maybe - we can be patient with MS and BA. (Hey, they already have 2 more wins than Gibbs did in his first 5 games).

It is unlikely this team is going anywhere beyond 16 games this year. In fact, it is unlikely that, as a Skin's fan, you will have more than six or seven "Winning Mondays" in the next ten months. So, I suggest you enjoy the ones you get. Bitch after the losses. But damn. Enjoy the win for at least a day or two.

My smack? all covered. lots of questionable coaching issues. McNabb - Out of bounds? Really? - Was this another "I didn't know how overtime works." moment? Banks on a reverse from the 3? Yikes - clever by a half.

We are 2-0 in the division - w/ home games against both the Eagles & Cowboys to come. We are tied at the top of our division. I don't expect that to last so I will enjoy the victory. I'll take 12 more of these ugly lucky wins any season b/c the Skins winning makes my f'ing week.

So hate on if you must, but, in the immortal words of Sir Mick - "Hey! You! Get off of my cloud!"

I was definitely a key whiner yesterday, I mean basically I got tired of seeing our DEs get in a choke hold on every play. I think literally 50-60% of times Peters could have been called for a hold. Maybe in the interest of keeping the game going they didn't call those and I understand a lot of stuff goes on but it was TOTALLY blatant.

Like you said Chico, it's just years of games like this going in the DIFFERENT direction. It's going to take a few wins like this on OUR side for me to get over it.

I think a lot of folks get frustrated during the game becasue we are waiting for the other shoe to drop as how we are going to find away to lose the game.

Sellers does suck. He's a liability everytime he's on the field and touching the ball.

Yeah some folks will never be happy. They don't hand out UW (ugly wins) in the NFL. I'll take a W anyway we can get it.

In other news, I just picked up Ryan Torain for my fantasy team. He might be a keeper.

Now that is comedy! You be better served picking up Sam Bradford (assuming he is still around).

It's called being objective. Why the hell should I be blindly happy and acting like we're the Colts or the Pats of the early or mid 2000s when I'm clearly going to be setting myself up for MAJOR disappointment? Hell, we were one Jason Avant drop from being 1-3. That cannot go on for every game for the rest of the season if they really want to compete into January. I already was hyper optimistic during the Zorn years, and that failed to deliver because I was too willing to sweep flaws under the rug.

The "Emperor has no clothes" is a disgusting attitude and I'm not going to be adopting it no matter how much people try to goad me into it. It's not objective, it's delusion.
I had absolutely no idea Kolb was going to come in when I was making my predictions.

Jeez nobody is saying we're now the Colts or Patriots, we're just saying it's ok to enjoy a win and not nitpick and bitch about every little shoulda, coulda, woulda moment.

And one holding penalty from being 0-4.

The difference between yesterday's 1st half Skins and yesterday's 2nd half Skins is unbelievable.

Re: Smoot Lays The Smack Down (Redskins at Eagles)

I love the Monday morning analysis. You're telling me four games into the season, we can predict who's looking like playoff material and who isn't? Good grief, the Chiefs are undefeated and my money is on them folding like a tent down the stretch. I believe the Redskins are improving little by little in different facets, they've just yet to put it all together in one game.

We've seen McNabb open up the passing game and go bonkers against the Texans. The running game is finally starting to show some flashes. We're getting more comforatable with the defensive scheme, even Haynesworth is starting to get his sea legs. I'm sorry, but I'm encouraged. And for all the what if Vick doesn't get hurt apologists, give me a break!! I can't believe B.Mitch, of all people, went there post game. His ass got hit by a hard hitting defense, that's not luck that's football. We've potentially changed the entire dynamic of Philly's season and maybe the NFC East.

We pull off an upset Sunday and suddenly we're talking about a Wild Card caliber team. Let's hope so.

Not sure that was a sentence, but for the record I never accused you (if you're saying I did). And Lotus never seriously did either.

Who's blindly happy? Do you even recognize the thread you're posting in? Have you actually read any of it? No one here is saying we're marching straight to the Super Bowl

We were also one Armstrong trip away from a 21-0 lead, one Carlos Rogers interception away from that Avant throw never happening, one Heyer false start away from Rogers not even needing to be back on the field.

Again, do you even realize what thread you're posting in?
