Everyone was against T.O. because they were scared of the locker room distractions. Moss fills the same argument IMO.

It would have been fun and exciting to have either on our team IMO. But neither is a make or break for the Skins. At this point I think the best we can hope for at this point is that DM comes back on fire and that he and Shanny really have "put things behind them".
Where are the Art Monk's of today? Classy/awesome WR's, will there ever be one again? It seems that 80% of WR's today are ****ing DIVAS.

Funny I was thinking the same thing while writing my last post. Except Jerry Rice came to mind. But Monk was pure CLASS!!!!
You're so right about the Prima WR's these days.

The ones that come to mind:
Andre Johnson, big results, very little to say - that's why he's the best.
Larry Fitzgerald - not far behind JOhnson if at all & he's a very cerebral dude.
Heinz Ward - plays like the posse used to, tough, gets yac, blocks.
Anquan Boldin - I know he wanted out of Arizona but he played well & kept quiet for the most part even when unhappy w/his contract.

I'd say Andre Johnson is in the same boat as Monk. Very quiet, humble from all accounts, but he always comes to play and he is very consistent at being a playmaker. Did anybody see him hobble back on the field against the Colts after his ankle injury flare up? He took a play off (mandated), probably got a shot or something, and then was right back in there because it was the Texans' most important drive of the game. I'd love to have him on my team.

SFRedskins, that's an easy statement to make but there are a ton of class WRs but the media focuses on the problem ones. Larry Fitz, C. Johnson, A. Johnson(see the E60 piece), Boldin, both Steve Smiths, Roddy White, most of the Saints WRs, S. Moss, Hines Ward, Hakeem Nicks, etc.

i'll tell you who's more upset than us we didnt sign Moss are texans fans.Their wr corp is not that good beside johnson, and he's not healthy. But the worst part is you let him go to a team thats your division rival and you still play 2 times this season

I knew of those guys and was lazy to go through those names, they still only make about 20% of WR out there.

Thanks a lot MonkFan4Life and those who saw my side of this.
I appreciate that a bunch.

We'll just have to tough it out and hope somebody steps up the 2nd 1/2 of the season I guess...

If I could say, it's not as much "seeing your side", as it is the extremeness of your points of view. Certainly you are entitled to your opinion, and to express it here, but if you are going to proclaim loudly that we have all the talent and coaching to go 14-2, and then turn around and proclaim that the season is lost and throw the bums out, then you have to understand that you are going to get called on that.

SS pointed out the irony that you had us losing to Tennessee at the beginning of the season, but now that they got RM, and we have to play them, that means we are going to lose to them.

Also, it's not like you said, I think we will go 14-2, in a prediction thread, and just threw it out there. You defended it in several long, and cogent, posts. That just makes everyone so much more aware of the dichotomy of you going to such a negative stance.

SFRedskins. 80 percent of stats are made up on the spot. Seriously though, I do think your numbers are off. If we went through all WRs in the NFL I would say almost all of them are NOT "divas". Better yet, list the divas.

I have TO, Chad Ochocinco, Dez Bryant, R. Moss and possibly V Jackson(a stretch). Who else?

Maybe it will dawn on your immense "knowledge" that the distribution element of the means of production is the larger problem here. It doesn't matter if you have the sexiest mailbox ever if the poor postman is always shot before he can come to your door.

I think he was speaking of current superstar quality WR's. Seems like the very best ones are Divas was the point. The guys you listed are some of the best of the best.

Monk was able to play at a HOF level and still do it with class. There are no Monks out there.
