Unfortunately employees needing breaks is a reality of any working environment.
You do know I was just joking as you kind of set yourself up for that. We can laugh every now and then.

Claim that Barack Obama's India visit will cost $200m a day is 'wildly inflated' | World news | The Guardian
Why should the White House announced how much it costs to protect the president? For what it's worth, a very similiar trip taken by Bill Clinton costs about $5.2 mil per day. This trip will probably cost the same seeing that Obama is travelling to less countries and this trip is a day shorter than Clinton's.

But what's so wrong about the timing?

Its also funny how the White House was so mad at how AIG employee's went on trips while excepting TARP money. They demanded account ability of tax payers money but here they sing a different tune. I don't have a problem with him going overseas I have a problem with the price tag and the amount of people he is taking.

Because we are paying for the trip. I'm sure your right an that estimate was 195,000,000 off per day.

Shoutout to Nikki Haley. Although I don't support her views politically it's showing times have changed. SS knows whats up.

Being serious though, I think its a much needed trip. Seeing the growth of China, India is a great ally again China and the common threat of terrorism. We are quickly learning Pakistan isn't the best of allies.

India is also number 2 in GDP growth hovering around 8-10 percent a year.

Of course I work for a local gov't so my perspective is skewed. But I know in our case there is not a lot of waste. The community around here gets a good level of service for their money.
My local municipality (Township) just announced they have a balanced 2011 budget and there will be NO tax increases.

Then again, we elect Conservatives here.

Yes we do need more India call centers. The company I work for uses them for agents and I raised hell in a meeting over having to work with people you cannot understand. When the regional mgr asked if anyone had any questions I raised my hand and mumbled out a question. After he asked 3 times for me to speak more clear I told him that's what we have to deal with when trying to get help. That got everyone else in the room going on about how poor the service is from India. I don't blame them I blame the company but I made my point and nothing will change.

Re: To All The Liberals

WTF does that have to do with call centers lol? I swear first, you make some of the most ridiculous and borderline ignorant statements.

I am only saying America is better off with India as an ally in the foreign relations and the national security realm. I am not talking about trade or the economy at all.

It's funny, hooskins, how you're actually pointing out one of the real reason why the president is really going, yet you have others making the trip out to be what they want it to be.

Still he'll be there attending two global economic summits; one in South Korea for the G20 and another in Japan for at G8 conference another to discuss trade and how to add jobs to our domestic economy. So yeah, he's not going there to watch fireworks.

Learn how to F&^%ing laugh. You don't think of call centers when you think of our business relation to India. Hell there is a sitcom about it.

Re: To All The Liberals

I don't see how Obama's visit is about business relations, but foreign relations.

Believe me I know where to laugh, seeing that I work for an IT consulting company. I also find it more hilarious that you think foreign relations and call centers are the same thing, or that is even the first thought that comes to your mind.

Re: To All The Liberals

Well a great deal of it is business oriented. A state dinner in India and two economic summits. But I'm sure, beneath the radar, foreign relations will be discussed.
