Re: 2011 NFL Draft

Just for you guys keeping score at home. It seems the Skins have Dalton rated a bit higher than Locker right now. This little tidbit below is from a legit insider on another forum. He also throws his opinion in on the matter in regards to Dalton vs Locker. Seems the house is mixed over the two QBs.

After all the talk today im still being told its Dalton over Locker but its close and it shouldnt be . I honestly believe this decision either pushes us towards success or keeps us in the same turmoil we have become accustomed to. Last season the mistake was made on easter so why repeat it again on draft night is beyond me. Hopefully Quinn is available at ten and the decison is taken out of the skins hands as to who is available. Im so tired of ego, pride, and square pegs in round holes. Sometimes the stuff you hear just makes me .(angry face)

Quote:
That's fine you can disagree all you want but some of our own scouts compare him to a young donovan. His issues with footwork are identical with mcnabbs with the overstride/hop ect. Locker would be a good prospect in my mind if mike Shanahan were running the offense but he is not. Kyles offense doesn't need a mobile runningback for a qb, he needs a smart/accurate one from the pocket. Locker has displayed a lot of physical ability but has never shown it as a pure qb. Taking locker while being a 2 year project is a huge gamble with a impatient owner. Locker could fix his issues and come around but a lot of people feel it is going to be hard to rid him of the ingrained baseball mechanics.
I enjoy reading this guy's posts because you can pretty much bank on it's the truth at the time he posts. I happen to agree with his opinion on the discussion with Dalton vs Locker as well. Just thought I'd share with you guys.

Re: 2011 NFL Draft

You don't need to go to another board to know Dalton is rated slightly higher than Locker...but always good to confirm with a second source. Still Quinn is the top choice

Re: 2011 NFL Draft

I don't want to make a huge deal of it but I don't exactly love the fact that the Shannys seem to have differing views when it comes to the type of QB that is best for the Redskins. That seems like a pretty big issue for Head Coach and OC to differ on...

Re: 2011 NFL Draft

And also if a pocket passer is the target and not a scrambler like Locker then we should look at Mallet who seems to have much more upside then Dalton.

Re: 2011 NFL Draft

Who knows what to believe anymore?
Reports are the team interested in Newton.
Report MS interested in moving up to get Gabbert.
Report KS likes Dalton a lot.

havn't heard much about the rest.

All I can say is there are other teams who need a QB and I sincerly hope the team does not throw everything away to move up. I'd rather they drop back out of the #10 spot and get extra picks.

Personally I'd rather have Dalton. He's got the arm, he's got the accuracey, he's got the mobility, and has good character. I'm actually really supprised the rest of you have not jumped on that bandwagon alone. Especially the character guys.

I don't think they're going to take Dalton. But that might just be wishful thinking

Re: 2011 NFL Draft

If Kyle wants a pocket passer, do they draft Mallett?

The good news is that two weeks from now we'll have answers. For those of us who have been waiting for the draft since last November, the wait is almost over.
