Willie Parker Trashes Redskins Lockeroom
Willie Parker is either slighted by the skins who cut him or has some truth in what he is saying.
"Being in Washington, they don’t care about football. I didn’t feel good from day one there. They weren’t about football. They were about partying" Willie Parker on the Redskins: “They don’t care about football” | ProFootballTalk I know Shanahan is on a quest to change the culture in Ashburn, but will he be successful? If you live in the DC area you know about the great club scene and nightlife where often times you will see a local athlete. What does the Warpath think? Are our players all about life after the field and not about what happens on it? Please discuss. I think there is some truth to this and that is why I am reluctant for us to resign a guy like Moss because he represent the old culture.

Re: Willie Parker Trashes Redskins Lockeroom
Yeah I saw this. Seems a little like sour grapes to me. Shanahan is attempting to change a culture, and I think in large part the guys are buying in. Sure Brandon Banks got stabbed in a nightclub at 2am, but apart from that, it's not like we have players getting in trouble by any means.
I'd like to know who he's referring to, and I'd also like to hear some of our current players react to these comments.

Pretty sure Fletch would have something to say about this. I mean, didn't we just have 30 or so players assemble for their own mini-camp on their own dime just for the sake of improving as a team? Doesn't sound like a group of guys who don't care about football.

Unless I am missing out but DC nightlife on the weekends is dead, the city is a ghost town especially in the summer time!

He even went as far as to say something about fan attendance which was weird.

Re: Willie Parker Trashes Redskins Lockeroom
I think the ability of our players had a lot more to do with our failures last year than their "partying".
Case in point: we brought in Willie Parker last year.

Re: Willie Parker Trashes Redskins Lockeroom
Well sure, but Shanahan had no tolerance for his BS, and he wasn't part of the new regime. MS and BA had nothing to do with bringing that load of crap to town.

Re: Willie Parker Trashes Redskins Lockeroom
Until we actually start winning, the Redskins will always get trashed. I mean look at last season with a "New Regime" and it was still a ****ing Circus.

Re: Willie Parker Trashes Redskins Lockeroom
This is only a headline because the Redskins cut him before he ever got a regular season carry. Comparing Pitsburgh to DC in like comparing Apples and Oranges. Randle El was here much longer than Willie thought about, went back to Pittsburgh and never heard a word from him anywhere similar to what Parker is talking about. Such a non-issue. Get a job Parker and do something then talk smack.

Re: Willie Parker Trashes Redskins Lockeroom
Well, the Skins do party - a lot. But I don't think they're any different than other NFL teams in other cities.

Re: Willie Parker Trashes Redskins Lockeroom
What does that have to do with caring about football or partying?
