All the rookie pay scale is is a cap set on how much you can pay your rookies. It doesn't create set salaries so you still have to negotiate with them. It's not like the NBA's system. But we def. won't see guys like Cam Newton get 5 year, 78 mil contracts with 50 mil guaranteed anymore.

And the winner of most awkward situation goes to? The Washington Redskins with "will Fat Al and McNabb report to camp?"

And now we get to talk Haynesworth and McNabb again? Sigh. The sooner Haynesworth is out of here, the better. As for McNabb, I have much less animosity towards him because he's been a class act, and I'd keep him around for a month if it meant getting a better deal. But I have no doubts we'll be hearing plenty of stories revolving around Haynesworth being at camp, or if Shanny decides to send him home so he can't risk further injury, or something else of that nature.

I kind of wish he was a jerk. Would make it so much easier to just throw him out with no considerations. However your right, probably one of the nicest guys in sports unless you talk to SCP.

I'm glad Stainsworth acts like he wants to get back to football.
If he keeps up this facade we may get more than a medium pizza and a 2 litre Pepsi for him.

Well TBH if keeping Haynesworth around for a month means getting a better deal as well I'd be for that too, but that means we'd have to put up with dumb stories for a month like wondering if he'll pass his conditioning test again, or something else. Because I'm pretty sure even if Haynesworth does come to camp, he's still not gonna wanna play NT.

I find it odd that folks cannot be cut until Thursday. If you want to ditch someone, you should be allowed to ditch them ASAP. Such benefits the teams and the players.

His private conduct does not mean that he prioritizes a pretty image over other matters, and that he's rather skilled at doing so. In short, a pretty public image does not necessarily translate into the person having the qualities defined in the word "classy".

Re: Updated Title: Lockout Over-NFLPA Unanimously Votes to Approve Deal

Personally, I can't wait till the next CBA/Lockout comes around again so I can see more gems like this.

Quote:
The players are being payed millions for playing a childs game. They have not put up 100s of millions just to have a game. I want to see the players go work construction for thirty years making no where close to 1 million in there life time and not have their bodies messed up. They have had chances in there life that not even 2% of people have had. Its like a child excepting more from a ice cream vender just because the kid is standing there. Because most of the retards spend all there money on stupid things doesnt mean they get more.

Quote:
The more money we pay players... the more the fans have to pay. Lower overall salaries is my goal. Higher player salaries lead to higher TV deals next time. Higher advertisement costs, higher cost of products in general so companies can pay these advertising costs... yada yada...

Quote:
well i know no matter what people are gonna say im wrong probably..but heres what i think....maybe now it seems stupid to be on MTV cribs showing off all their (the players) Lambos and huge houses and then crying because they dont have a "retirement plan" ya got paid 40 million bucks!!!!!!!!! thats your retirement plan......if your not educated enough to plan your money more wisely thats your problem.. hell if i had 40 million bucks id retire!!!!!!!
/facepalm
