Could Samuel be cut?

Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency-Part 2
i mean, wouldnt the smart move be moving him right now instead of burying him on the depth chart letting him get a year older and chance on reducing his value? what is the chance that they let go of asante?
what does his contract look like? I dont see the reason to have 3 probowl #1 cornerbacks on your roster............that would be very expensive, and vince young also is going to be signed..............sorry, but if it was only 12 mil against the cap for an elite talent like NA, i say we should have at least gotten a look see......i thought the market was at 15mil and above for his services. Eagles are lapping everyone when it comes to this offseason. they will win the east no problem this year if vick can stay healthy. |

Good thing we have Rex to deftly pick apart that Eagles secondary. :tongue

The New York Jets can't make any big moves in free agency until Nnamdi Asomugha makes a decision. - ESPN New York Quote:
I don't know what Nnamdi's agent is thinking. Your highest value is going to come when more bidders are involved, and yet each team vying for him have pulled out. Smart teams just pull out, go to the next option and move on. I applaud the Texans for pulling out and signing Joseph and a safety instead of wrapping up a huge sum in one player. |

Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency-Part 2
GD shitballs McGee. How are we going to contend with that? There's no way teams will be able to throw on the Eagles this season. If you don't throw at Nnamdi, you throw at Samuel, aka the interception machine, and if you're not throwing at him, you're throwing at DRC, who is easily capable of being a 3rd corner. Then again maybe they move DRC to safety? I don't see him as a SS though, and they have Nate Allen at free.
It's gonna be a lot harder to beat the Eagles this season that's for sure.

Michael Lombardi is saying that since the Cowboys can't get Nnamdi, they go hard for Cullen Jenkins. I wonder if they go for Ty Warren before him though.

Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency-Part 2
That was my reaction as well. Makes you wonder what they'll do now. Something has to give with DRC/Nnamdi/Samuels. Going to be interesting to see. Like I said in the other thread. Andy Reid for HC/GM/Exec of the Year. Fleecing two teams for scrub QBs and now pulling off a major FA move. FUUUUUUUUUUUU |

Re: 2011 NFL Free Agency-Part 2
Nnamdi Asomugha agrees to five-year, $60 million deal with Philadelphia Eagles, source says - ESPN
5 years 60 mil? Jesus. I thought Asomugha was going to get in the neighborhood of 15-18 mil per year. But 12 mil per year? The Jets couldn't do 12 mil per? Eagles have got to be the odds on favorite to go to the SB this year. And don't underestimate the signing of Babin. Extremely solid pair of bookends there, I bet Babin will light it since he's being reunited with Jim Washburn.
