I'm all for rebuilding but I don't want to win 4 games and get MS fired either

You actually want us to give up 1st or 2nd round pick(s) for Orton? Shanahan said he's betting his reputation on Beck and Rexy - it says it all for me.

I don't think even Dan Snyder would be willing to give Mike Shanahan $21mil to work for some other team next year. They are tied together at the hip for the foreseeable future.

Is he on our radar? Sorry but im way outta the loop. Just got back from a 2 week vacation in europe. I see that hanyesworth and mcnabb are gone.
Good scoop on Verica, hooskins. He's in our camp now. But Shanny said in an interview that he was worried about Beck and Chappell throwing themselves sore. So I think that Verica is just a human throwing machine and will get a ticket home as soon as Rex and Kellen arrive.

Most reports have the going price for Orton as a third rounder plus the nice $$$ bonus Orton is asking for (the bonus is the hangup with Miami). We could pay the bonus.

Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agents Rumors and Reports-Part 3

Orton is proven QB compared to Kolb, and Cardinals had to give up a starting CB and 2nd round pick for Kolb.. I find it hard to believe that Denver would not want something similar, or at least kinda close to this kind of deal. Beside a reporter (I believe Schefter) from Sportscenter said that Miami believed that Orton is worth 3 to 5th round pick, while Denver wanted more. That is the reason why the trade between those two teams haven't happened.. yet.

Skinsfan, read careful next time - I said 1st OR 2nd pick, not and.

Beside do you really think Orton will play better than Rexy or even Beck at this point? Orton would have to cram the playbook in VERY limited time if he comes here, which I do not think it will turn out well. However if we had whole off-season, then I would not be against this.

1. Denver seems pretty desperate to get rid of him and if no one is willing to trade for him for what Denver wants (especially if most of the higher potential trading places have gotten someone else) his price might come down. It's all supply and demand.

2. I am not saying that if Orton came here he would be the day one starter. I know he would be behind the curve learning the playbook compared to Rex and Beck. And if there is a competition in camp and he doesn't start at the beginning of the season so be it. But at least you would have a competent QB who you know how has a record of good numbers.

And when Rex has a breakdown game and throws 5 INT, and you don't know how Beck will respond because he doesn't have a lot of game experience, maybe by that time Orton will have a good grasp of the playbook and he will step in nicely. The system he runs in Denver isn't that different, there are similarities. That is all I'm saying.
