Carlos Rogers Drops His Heart in San Francisco
Significantly less than he was looking for.
Instead of getting Nnamdi money, he's signed a one year deal with the Niners. Probably worth around $4 million.

Re: Carlos Rogers Drops His Heart in San Francisco
Kinda wish we could have kept him regardless of dropping picks, which started when he dropped that pick 6 in the playoffs in Seattle years ago... he was a good cover corner and I think the d will show his absence.

Re: Carlos Rogers Drops His Heart in San Francisco
Carlos was probably surprised to find the market for his services was not what he thought it would be. One year deal....um

Re: Carlos Rogers Drops His Heart in San Francisco
I'm surprised that he could not get more than a one year deal. I know the drops are not a great thing for a CB to have but he is an above average cover corner.

Re: Carlos Rogers Drops His Heart in San Francisco
I hope this brings him back down to earth. He thought he was an elite corner and thought he deserved to be paid like it. Fact remains, he is a good cover corner, aggressive tackler, but when it comes to elite you have to be a playmaker. He just wasn't a playmaker. I'd take him back in a second. I always thought he could cover anyone, wasn't really concerned about the picks, although it was frustrating.

A shame we couldn't keep him. I hope Josh Wilson is a capable replacement.

Re: Carlos Rogers Drops His Heart in San Francisco
If he was so valuable we could have kept him fairly easily. It was time for everyone to move on.
He's not as bad as his detractors say, but certainly not as good as his supporters think either. |

Or as good as "he" thinks he is....

Re: Carlos Rogers Drops His Heart in San Francisco
Certainly not has good as he thinks. The market spoke, and he's in SF on a one year deal. Nuff said.

Re: Carlos Rogers Drops His Heart in San Francisco
Sad to lose him this way. Josh Wilson is not a capable replacement. It's going to be amusing to see teams go to work on him.

Re: Carlos Rogers Drops His Heart in San Francisco
Rogers to Wilson will be a fairly even trade off. Wilson has more speed and better ball skills but is small, Los is bigger and more physical, but doesn't make many plays.
