In this case, it means some team having enough fire power to rocket up to that pick to land RG III. I don't think it's Miami, as I feel they are fine with going into next season with Matt Moore. Cleveland is a possibility, and I'm not sure if the Redskins are willing to move up to land RG III. I know it was rumored of Denver to move up, but they're not even picking in the first 20 picks, I would think they would have to give up a King's ransom and then some to move all the up to the Rams pick.

I'm starting to believe that the Redskins are not going to make a big splash this offseason for that star QB. They DO have to replace John Beck with a competent backup, but other than that, I'm thinking the Redskins front office continues on with their current plan and THEN maybe looks at the quarterback of the future next offseason.

The big IF is, IF the Redskins stay relatively healthy and have better depth built on the offensive line and in some key positions, the Redskins might win 8 to 10 games. If they win 10 games WITH Rex Grossman this coming season (yes, I know it's a stretch) then Shanahan is going to look like a genius in being patient and getting that future franchise QB next year. By his fifth season, the Redskins will be solid.
That's a HUGE if considering the deficiencies we have with depth at a number of positions. We are going to have to wheel and deal in FA to upgrade a lot of those spots or be a big player in the trade down game again this year in the draft. Or both...

It wasn't a injury. ECU alum and employee here. Davis struggles if is primary read isn't open. He stares down receivers and often makes poor decisions by throwing into double/triple coverage (ala...Rex "**** it i'm going deep") on deep routes.

Even when he was great last year, I never thought he was a NFL type of quarterback. I personally thought he should have been benched a few times this season with his play, but other games would make you marvel. (navy)

I can't see St Louis trading Bradford either for an unknown. I think they'll wind up trading the pick too. They could be the big winners on draft day if they do.

I don't think there is ANY way they can sell Grossman and a new backup at QB going into next season to this fan base. There will be a whole bunch of empty seats at Fed Ex if they try to sell that garbage again. QB has to be a focus, both coaches said as much in the final weeks talking about Rex's turnovers and that we are still looking for that guy to be a franchise QB.

I'm starting to lean towards believing that Cleveland isn't really going to be a player for RGIII. I doubt they will give up both first round picks this year to move 2 spots (everyone keeps pointing out their ammo) and their needs at RB and WR outweigh their QB needs. They can fill both needs with their picks and get Richardson and Floyd (for example) and see what McCoy does with talent around them. They may be the only team in the league with worse skill position players than we do. Even if they go the QB route, wouldn't you think that Holmgren would rather follow a path he's had success with, former Green Bay QB (tutored Brunell, acquired Hasselbeck) than draft a rookie? That's got to be the #1 landing spot for Flynn.

It's crazy but based on FA, we may not need to move but one spot to get RGIII.

I agree, heck I don't think they can sell that to themselves let alone the fans again. Could Rex play a little better with more weapons around him? Sure. But the issue remains that he's always been very prone to turnovers. I doubt that's going to change significantly at this point in his career.

I agree with you that trading the #2 pick could be a big win for St. Louis.

The ideal trade for St. Louis, IMO, would be with Cleveland. I think the best picks for St. Louis would be either Kalil, to help keep Bradford upright, or Blackmon who would be a great playmaker to pair with Bradford. Drafting 4th, St. Louis would be sure to get one of those players.

The only reason I can see for both of those teams to want to make that trade is that Cleveland wants RGIII. If that is the case, then St. Louis should be able to demand, and get, both of Cleveland's first round picks this year and possibly more if other teams get into the bidding for RGIII.

The speculation is that if Fisher gets the job he may want to bring in a vet like Orton and use Bradford to get more picks. It may not be likely to happen but who knows. Stranger stuff has happened.

My own gut feeling is Fisher isn't going to the Rams.

Who do you think goes to the Rams? My gut tells me Fisher ends up in either Miami or Tampa. I think Tampa's more attractive from a coaching standpoint because of Josh Freeman and solid young core of RBs and WRs.

This doesnt make a lot of sense to me because im pretty sure Fisher ran a WCO during his tenure at Tenn. Bradford looked great his first year when the Rams were using a WCO but then Shurmur went to Cleveland and McDainels came in and implemented a spread type offense. Which Bradford was against and obviously failed at.

If Fisher comes in, hes bringing the WCO with him and keeping Bradford. Everyone in St Louis knows the digression with Bradford was because of McDainel’s offense and the loss of Shurmur (who imo is a great coach).

You never know.
Some members of the fanbase have a knee jerk rationalizations for everything the staff does.

For what it's worth, Fisher and fam do hang out in S Florida some in the off season. Not sure if they own a home or just vacationing......

Any word on him and Chicago? I thought I read about that being his dream job. Of course Lovie is still there though.
