Re: Redskins Sign DeSean Jackson
I was crushed in '08 when we passed on Jackson in the draft so I am certainly happy now.. The contract makes it even better since it doesn't seem like it straps us financially or will prevent us from doing anything we need to do over the next 2 offseasons either.
On the field, I have zero concerns. He opens things up for everyone else, not to mention the production he can put up. FINALLY, receiver is not a position of weakness. I'll put it out there that we've got the best skill position grouping (QB, WR, TE, RB) in the division even though we don't have the best player at any of the positions. This is a sum is greater type of deal. In the draft, it opens up so much because now we can more easily either target Moses or Ward or decide to trade back and get an extra 2 or 3. If we spend a pick on a WR, it may be in the 4th or 5th but it won't be someone we're counting on to make an immediate impact. Also, now anything we get from Hankerson is a bonus. All in all, great signing, HTTR!!!
