Around the League: WEEK 1 Baby!

I still can't get over the fact that:

• The prosecutor sees this video
• Decides to charge Rice with a lesser misdemeanor
• The grand Jury sees video and ups the charges to a felony
• Then the prosecutor plea bargains the charges down to a misdemeanor again
• Then Rice rejects a plea deal, goes into a pretrial program to avoid ANY jail time

I just don't understand how this happens.

Edit: Also it is really sad that this is the top story the Monday of week 1.
