The running game was not working, face it the Giants are good at stopping the run, especially if that is what they have decided to do. So what do we do, just keep playing to their strength – no. The passing game (if executed better) would have worked. Kirk just did not have a great game. He was constantly throwing behind the receivers, made some bad decisions…also did some good things. You can’t put it all on his shoulders, but if he was more accurate, it likely would have been a different game. The bottom line is the Giants plan was to make Kirk beat them and he could not. However, the blocked punt, penalties, and the fumble going into the end zone were major contributors to this loss as well. Really just gotta clean up the untimely penalties, start creating our own turnovers and get better all-around execution and things will start looking up.

Oh and can we please stop calling for Colt McCoy and give Kirk a chance? He’s started all of 12 games, three this year (two of which I think he played pretty darn well). All QBs throw interceptions, some great ones threw a bunch early in their careers. Aikman, Favre, Manning to name a few all threw over 40 interceptions their first three years…Manning almost 60. You can’t bench him because he is making some mistakes, unless you REALLY think this is your year and you have a better option waiting in the wings… which clearly is not the case. Let him play, make mistakes, get better and the whole team will be better for your patience.
