The Warm and Fuzzy Christmas Thread...
Well guys and gals it’s Christmas time again. You know, visions of sugar plums and all that jazz. This is the thread to discuss all things related to the holiday season. Hopefully we can keep it light hearted and focus on the good things the season brings.
One of the things I remember most about Christmas growing up was how my parents did the whole Santa thing. In our house Santa was on a budget. My mom would actually tell me Santa could only afford $75 worth of toys (Hey… $75 bucks bought a lot of stuff in the 70’s), then she would give me the Sears Wish Book and say “knock yourself out”. My brother and I poured over the catalogue until the pages were worn out. Decisions, decisions… trying to figure out how we could get the most bang for the buck. Looking back I am greatful my parents did it that way. It taught me the value of a dollar early on and to appreciate what I have. I wish more parents would teach those kinds of lessons to their kids today. So feel free to share your stories of Christmases gone by or maybe some of those retro Christmas photos with your cheesy “I got a new toy” grin. Talk about your plans for the holidays or about that special something you’ve got up your sleeve this year. Most of all I would like to wish everyone here a very blessed and Merry Christmas. |
