Cooley is faster and a bit more of a receiving threat. But he is not a great run blocker.
All the media and today's football fans just care about catches and yards. Regardless of what team they play for, I would rather have Witten as my #1a TE and Cooley as my #1b TE/H-back. Witten is a much better blocker, but he is still a very good receiver. Cooley is a slightly better receiver. Cooley is not a great run blocker. So I give a slight overall advantage to Witten. Run blocking for your #1 TE is so important and does not get the credit that it is due. It adds so much to your running game when your TE will knock the snot out of a LB or DE.
