Vick signs with the Eagles

The Vick conundrum: he's an amazing talent, but the offense that squeezes the most out of his potential doesn't currently exist. You'd have to learn, and spend months teaching an offense built around Vick to his supporting cast. However, Vick would be the only player who could run this offense, and he's not a very durable player. So when he gets hurt, all you have is a foreign offense and a backup who can't run it (See: Michigan. 2008).

Essentially, the opportunity cost of doing what it takes to make Michael Vick a great NFL player is not worth the risk of the ultimate failure of the plan once implemented. Ergo, Vick will never be a valuable NFL player.
