I'm saying Reid felt compelled to run the score up since the Redskins' offense was catching fire and had it not been for the Eagles being lucky enough to recover a couple of fumbles, the Redskins could have very well came back to make it a good game.

So, the long and short of it is, yes, Reid was trying to run the score up and probably would have scored 70 points if he felt the Redskins had time to come back.

I hear ya, it's just when people start talking about "running up the score" it usually implies something negative as in bad sportsmanship. We're on the same page.
