This is what most of you guys hear when you read this:

Portis: I want a pay raise in the offseason, despite me being injured 2 consecutive years and having not much value to the team anymore.

This is what you guys should hear when you read this:

Portis: Sure, I want a pay raise. Will I ask for one or hold out until I get one? No, because there's a big probability I will be cut in the offseason unless I take a pay cut.
