I think though, as when he let Sal go, Don thought he was doing the noble thing for everyone involved. It could have been much worse in Don's mind had he not let Lane simply resign

Here's a question though, does this now open things up for Peggy to return possibly as a partner? And does Joan with her books-smarts become the Lane of the company?
