Re: Ravens release Ray Rice
I'm seeing the media speak a lot about double standards regarding stars like Floyd Mayweather but he's been on my list of grade A-Dbag/wife beaters for a while now.
If one good thing has come out of this Ray Rice fiasco its that domestic violence finally seems to be getting treated seriously. Feels like we've come a long way since Chris Brown got community service for felony assault. Ironically enough Mayweather seems to be one of the few high profile wifebeaters to actually have been punished by the courts. Though I will admit our pitchforks may be getting a bit too sharp at this point. With domestic violence finally getting long overdue attention hopefully people will remember that being labeled a wifebeater is deservedly one of the worse labels a person can carry and it shouldn't be thrown around lightly. Of course when you have a layup like the Ray Rice case and offer probation in the court of law and a 2 game slap on the wrist with the NFL it becomes hard to resist the temptation to slam your head into a wall. By the way has anyone seen that now there's rumors that the NFL most definitely saw the elevator tape? Quote:
