I have mixed emotions about this, on one hand I do think the NFL should wait to see what the justice system says, but on the other hand they are public figures and are held accountable in ways that the average public is and they know that when they sign their contract. I work in education and I recognize that being an educator of the youth my private life has to remain exactly that. If a family sees me having a drink at the bar and tells the administration at my school that I was drunk I might find myself at the warehouse instead of the classroom until an investigation is completed. Is it fair? no but it comes with the territory.

It comes with the territory you allow it to come with.

Yes, society has reached the point that as a teacher you cannot been seen doing that. The same people that treat you as an over-paid babysitter can't stand the idea that you might be normal and enjoy a drink in your free time.

But do we want to further it more?

The same social forces going after the NFL, the Vikings, and the Ravens are the same ones coming after us for having a racist team name.

It's all righteous feel good stuff until its your team being targeted for whatever reason.

Be careful what we wish for.
